@Asraiil: They could manufacture the phones in an non-chinese-sweatshop environment. Lets say the phones would cost an extra $200 per unit to manufacture (which is ultra generous). Do you think ANYONE would give a care if their iPhone cost $200 more? No.
@decgeek: If you're looking for exact numbers, the numbers the industry tries to achieve, in general, is a 2% manufacturer-fault failure rate within 3 months of purchase, and 5% within 12months (obviously, less is better). Most products stay under that.
