@prometeum: any developments in genetics is so recent and is making us re-write the textbooks on what we know life to be. Its really exciting.

@Tom Spettigue: Yeah but I just couldnt be bothered to write up the whole experiment, it was a bacterium cell with modified chemicals to create DNA strings... i still think its going/has to change the way we think about life.

Only happened a few months ago but they created life completely synthetically.
