Do you do that in the living room? This controller is for playing all the games on Steam with no exception, in the living room without a keyboard and mouse draped over your lap.

Then you would have just had an Xbox 360 controller. This controller is designed to play PC games in the living room so it needs those haptic trackpads. You aren't going to play Dota 2 or Counter Strike: GO (not well at least) with a standard controller. And the Haptic trackpad on the left is not just a d-pad.
