Have you ever written about why you left Chrysler? I’m glad to have you writing. But considering your love of Jeeps, it seems inexplicable you’d ever leave a job designing them.
Easy: white people don’t get the right to police how black people speak or use words that were historically used by white people to denigrate black people.
Damn! Sorry for your experience and thanks for the insight. I’ve never had anything close to that but your perspective really puts that whole argument to rest for me and was helpful in understanding the whole thing.
Is it a double standard? No, no it’s not. A double standard implies that both parties share the same standing, and black people do not share the same standing as white people, “white-passing” people, or even other minorities. If they want to use those words, I think they’re allowed that much privilege.
Fine:
Kanye West is black, Kyle Larson is not. The power dynamic is the issue. Historically, when white people said it (I know Kyle is only half white, but hear me out), it’s been out of hatred for African Americans. When black people say it, it’s not them saying it out of hatred of race. Plus Kyle went hard-r n-word.…
NO ONE should be using this word yet we reward some people with million of dollars for the continued use and distribution of this word.
Because they are Black. You can call yourself some racial slur all day long and no one would give a fuck, but when you say it about a race that you are not a member of there is going to be backlash
Just for future reference, if you have to start off a comment with “Just asking this is going to make me ‘automatically a racist’ but...”, don’t make the comment.
You’re not necessarily racist, but I’d definitely say you’re ignorant.
jesus fucking christ they actually sponsor someone?
It’s a lot harder to control your customer than your employee.
250k miles and a worn-out suspension really calls into question the “someone would have wanted that” claim, doesn’t it? I mean, if it was an easy call for him to take the $4500, it probably would have been an easy call for a theoretical prospective buyer to refile it from NP to CP.
Not when it comes to cars. Most cars are more of a personal purchase than a household purchase and two incomes usually requires two cars.
The median household income is $62k-ish.
I bought a 2019 EcoSport SE 3cyl. when they were having the fall clearance sale last August because my ‘97 Lexus LX450 finally gave up the ghost.
Have you seen America? The median income is like 32k in this country. 100k is in the 90th something percentile. most ppl cannot afford these cars.
