Thanks for the write-up O'Neal. We can always count on you.
The biggest bummer to me is the absence of Elena's keys, as to my ears her moog-y noise fiddling on the margins have been their biggest asset in this era. I ended up liking Sub-Lingual Tablet a fair amount and it was on the strength of tracks like Black Door

I really love reading the old pulpy stuff, like Creepy, Eerie, EC, etc. The old ink work can be so macabre by itself!

It's so odd. We have a film club at the house and when someone picked it I was completely surprised that there was no way to rent it. Thankfully someone posted it up on Youtube in full.

I wait for arcs to end or try to stop on a clean number like 5 or 10. Which is insane.
Also I considered dropping Wic+Div during that third arc and was not a HUGE fan of the series as a whole, but this last round (the 4th arc?) was maybe my favorite yet? There was a lot of action and narrative, the two things

I like Batman because he's always crying and hugging people.

I didn't even know I needed a Criterionified The Addiction, but you're right, totally necessary.

SWEET this looks pretty great. I've always liked Danny Perez's trippy viz stuff with Animal Collective and Black Dice so fingers crossed he sticks the landing because I would totally ask this movie out on a date.

They made a ghostbusters movie with girls instead of boys, which means somehow it's worse than the normal badness of every terrible reboot of every other movie.

Great review dude! I'll have to check it out. Different, but I know you enjoyed Welcome Back as well. I just finally finished the last few issues of that and really wish it had just ended at 4 or 5 where it was SUPPOSED to end originally.

I've read some of Chaykin's 80s stuff, but I'm pretty torn on whether I'll give #2 a shot. I'm a hard-drinking bebop lover, but half way through I really stopped and wondered what exactly I was reading. Reminds me of people's criticism of modern Frank Miller. 'Dunno' is a good way to put it.
The mild switch at the end

I think you're totally right in your feelings. I recently start reading comics again for the first time in 15-20 years and it took me a long time to suss out what I REALLY liked and disliked when perusing the stuff you folks recommend here. Sometimes it's the art or the style, sometimes it's the story or the writing,

'If the spirit moves you, let me(it) groove you?'
I think you approach like any and all art- experience, reflect, and either repeat or abscond immediately depending on your feelings about the first two.

Man this is so good. I wondered why I was wading so deep, but this made it all worth it. If the world, asshole and non-asshole, took the time to preface, to apologize, to be even or open about their own opinions, thoughts, or feelings as you did here, wouldn't the worst of them be better? Thanks for this.

They always reminded me of Otto's parents from Repo Man. Maybe they were acquaintances?
'We're sending bibles to El Salvador!'

You've made me realize that I secretly wish every review ended with a would bang / wouldn't bang call.

I only recently discovered his work from the first issue of Godzilla in Hell- I think it was just collected in tpb but he only did the first issue. I know he just did the variant cover for Headlopper but I haven't seen anything else from him recently.
I actually just joined twitter so that I could try to follow some of

HA had the exact same reaction just now.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Man that comic is my #1 pick each month. If Humans doesn't come back soon I'm sunk for gnarly grindage.
PLEASE MORE ART SCIOLI, NEELY, STOKOE…

Racist..

This has been one of the highlights of the comic bin for me! Was unimpressed by the first issue but have fallen deeper in love every issue- highly recommended for any horror/thriller fans.
