I'll admit it. I clicked on the post because I thought the poor woman was masturbating on camera or something and I was curious to know what the gaff was.

Why would a British developer choose an American to do a Cockney accent? I'll admit I wouldn't have guessed it was North from the last reveal, but it seems a strange choice. I guess maybe they're Northern English and an American doing cockney is probably better than they could find locally. I don't know.
Who else love love loves Mary Elizabeth Winstead? Um, everybody! Especially her mum. But seriously, if there's a Bioshock Infinite movie, please cast her as Elizabeth. And not because they have the name in common.
I had to watch it again to really notice that quote— it does kind of sound like typical pre-release rhetoric, not that I'm trying to disparage Ken Levine at all. But Irrational wouldn't give us these choices if they didn't impact gameplay somehow— that being said, the outcome of each "node" will probably be similar.…
So it IS alternate universes, not simply "time travel"... Don't get me wrong, I love the concept of time travel on its own, but opening it up to infinite "Universes" makes it all the more intriguing... Now how does that relate to Oppenheimer, Planck, Einstein... (or should that be Maxx Planc, Ryszard Openheim and…
While I liked this video and found it amusing, anyone could tell you that the reason "costumed booth representatives" are there is not primarly for their gaming savvy.
My friend met him once, back in the late 80s or early 90s. Of course it's common knowledge now, but when asked how to pronounce his name, he responded, "Giggam, Googum, Gygax." I'll never forget that. He was a very nice gentleman.
Also, it helps to be an attractive female.
Naomi Watts is still looking pretty good for her age!
Proof that the publishers and their marketing departments are spending money in all the (morally) wrong places. How about paying your employees better or hiring more of them, rather than spending money on this high gloss claptrap and making people work 80 hour weeks during crunch time (I have no statistics to back…
I know it's hard to represent gameplay like this in a 90 second ad spot, but somehow the unreality of all of it (the beautiful-looking people, the canned dialogue, etc.) just makes it irrelevant for me. We (as in the Kotaku audience) are not the chief demographic for this ad, are we? It seems like it's for suits and…
Doh! You're right— I thought I tried hitting all the buttons, but I guess I didn't try L+R together at the same time. All works fine, even the select thingy. Thanks, AkibaLime! I watched the video again, he never mentions the L+R thing...
I'll bite your kneecaps off!
I'm totally with you there, Jandau. I think you've described exactly why I never finished (or even got very far with) Oblivion.
Great question— Morgan Webb was a geek lust icon at one point, I think, but she's more or less a genuine gamer. I don't hate her, but it's a pity she doesn't have more personality. I was actually thinking about this with the second girl, the way the clip is edited, she sounds like she's just saying "yeaaaah...." once…
Agreed, I think that's the thing they really need to focus on, although to be fair personally I've not encountered anything game breaking. Every game has bugs leftover (especially these days), but it says a lot about their Q&A and development processes that so many make it into the final revs.
So what influences of Gamebryo did you notice, Sugoi? I agree, it doesn't completely look like a new engine from the 360 version. I still have a good feeling about it, but I tend to enjoy a more focused narrative than the open world sandbox approach myself (I played Morrowind, Oblivion and Fallout3, but finished none…
Thanks, Akiba— I'll try it out when I get home. I must have missed the instructions in the video (I heard the one about holding Select, but it didn't seem to work).
Hooray! :) And there was much rejoicing.
I just bought this via the UK eShop and I don't have the options that Ashcraft does in the video— like the green colors, the Gameboy Border, etc.
