I thought it wasn't known whether tachyons would give off Cherenkov radiation like normal supercharged particles in a high-refraction medium, but after going googling I realize that I really don't know enough physics to talk about this intelligently.

But then again, for all we know it could be the tachyons that travel faster than light in our atmosphere. Or Manhattan's body itself could be an exotic, strangely refracting material.

They wouldn't really be space fighters then >_>

It's kind of weird how many different memes he's spawned, almost entirely anonymously. How many people know the guy who made DickButt also made StareDad? Not enough.

Well. I mean. First and foremost, the move towards AI isn't blind and it's certainly not poorly thought out. Human beings are not good drivers by nature. We tend to be pretty crap at maintaining focus for long periods of time, we habitually choose suboptimal routes and do not cooperate with fellow drivers. Perhaps

So I can't help but wonder, when you go looking for article images on stock photo sites, do they just have a category called "Colonoscopy"? Or do you need to do a custom search? Like "Middle aged man miffed by merry, mustachoied M.D. meddling his gluetus maximus"?

Well, like Douglas said, "Does he not, to put it in a nutshell, fuck"? We can assume about Zaphod, and Ford and Trillian seemed like they wouldn't have any trouble finding dates. But Arthur? Of course not, something remarkably Improbable would need to align to draw him out of celibacy.

Oh yeah. Most def. As illustrated marvellously by Jess Fink

A question that can only be answered in full with a much deeper knowledge of Thermian erogenous zones than we have been blessed with

I was all "But Fenchurch! Feeeenchuuuuurch!". Adams explicitly acknowledges and fixes the lack of sexy times, surely that must have stuck in someone else's mind than my own?

My favorite Trek romance has got to be Picard x Daren, the piano-mat playing stellar cartographer. It's one of the few pairings in Star Trek that really felt like it made sense, that there was some kind of chemistry beyond "hook up so implausible alien cultural / physiological phenomena can affect beloved crew

I question the structural viability of an anatomy that features a giant eyeball in place of a knee

Cross your arms, tilt your head, lean on a leg, smirk

When you open an Ultrabook...

Holy shit re: Nuclear river computers. Was that for real or just speculation? Makes a lot of sense in a super villain kind of way
