This is silly.

In principle, I agree.
Sure but presumably this high-stress situation caused non-typical behavior.
100% possible. But as someone in the medical field I can tell you that a lot of times it’s not known how severe these conditions really are until something happens.
Sure but...she IS sick. It says she’s going home for unspecified medical issues and she has an emotional support animal. It’s not outside of the realm of possibility that she really is not well. Able to live in society, probably, but not okay.
I don’t know that that’s entirely fair.
So…I think there is a conversation to have about the term “statutory rape” and how it can encompass a very broad spectrum of activities that run the gamut from unquestionably evil to comparatively harmless “Romeo and Juliet” (yes, that’s a stupid example, but that’s the prevailing term for such situations/laws)…
The first Paddington might manage that with its frequent asides for wacky hijinks. And it won’t make you want to kill yourself after the second viewing.
Yeah, but that add worked for its intended audience.
While I get where the author’s coming from, I don’t agree that most people are watching this show for the quieter slice of life moments. Those may be where the show is at its BEST, but people are tuning in for the mystery at this point.
Yeah…I feel like this a problem in the writing for villains generally.
Wow...I haven’t thought about the granilith (granolith?) for, like, 10 years.
Ditto. Second season had its issues and third was a wreck but...that first season is still some of the most enjoyable, watchable tv I’ve ever seen.
Let ‘em.
The seasons decline in quality but the first season is fantastic television. It’s a 90's teen soap opera at heart, so right away it’s going to be a hard-pass for a lot of people. But it’s probably my favorite example of the genre.
Mmmm, I don’t know about that. I was totally #TeamTess in the early run but they kinda jumped the shark with her character.
In fairness, I kind of understand your girlfriend’s reaction. Who could do that to poor Colin Hanks? It’s like punching a puppy in the face. And then killing him with your weird not-alien powers. And then giving him to Cruella Deville so she can make a fur coat out of him.
I don’t know, it’s no Dune but I maintain the early seasons hold up as some of the best tv melodrama of recent years. Certainly it could have had more to say but I don’t think it was trying to. Martin has some (problematically and inconsistently displayed, though I feel like fans would say that was the point) themes…
Yeah, but that fish man had a way better arse than Drogon.
