I mean…maybe.
I mean…maybe.
They will. Why else would they set it in the 90's?
Am I the only one that liked the Defenders?
To be honest...I get where you’re coming from as the “genius” character. But don’t we have Bruce (unless they put him back in space with Team Thor and the Guardians) and, arguably, Hank Pym for that? Pym even has a corporation.
I’m hoping they split off the Guardians, Thor, Valkyrie, maybe Loki and kind of have a secondary, connected but not often incorporated “off-Earth” universe of movies.
Not Falcon as Captain America in that role? I always figured they would go that direction with Cap when they retired Steve’s character. And Falcon can play the moral heart of the team well with a little more character development. Especially since Vision is likely going to die (though I have a hint it’s not Thanos…
Hey—I agree. I think George Lucas is an amazing high-concept filmmaker. I just don’t think he can write or direct for characters very well. It’s simply not his strength. He’s a much more “bird’s eye” creative.
To be fair, the Prequels aren’t trying to make sense with lines like that. It’s all stylistic melodrama. Which can work...Lucas’ writing just wasn’t quite up to the task.
To be fair, while the Prequels are absolutely melodramas (as opposed to the Original Trilogy, that were more or less fairy tales by genre), that’s not necessarily a good or bad thing. It comes down to execution (arguably where the Prequels stumbled).
Got to agree to disagree on that one.
Yeah—other than that. Which, honestly, I think is a fair criticism of the prequels.
I actually disagree pretty hard on that.
I mean...they could still recast Leia. I understand for nostalgic reasons why fans are hesitant about that avenue but it is a possibility that should at least be considered.
I kind of feel like you and @You. Yes, you. are both have a point here.
This.
This is all made even more confounding when you consider that Disney has invested so much money on integrating the Star Wars brand into their Parks and Resort properties—money they’re going to have a hard time recouping if they can’t not only continue to keep people engaged by making these movies, but also making sure…
Yeah, I pretty much 100% agree with that.
The ship chase was clearly a science fail (though only the movie’s second worst one…oh movie, you couldn’t just put little thruster effects on your bombs in post-production?) but I think it could have worked. The idea isn’t inherently bad. It worked great for Battlestar Galactica all the way back in 2005. I think it…
Thanks :)
I mean...agree to disagree, I guess.
