This is a highly misleading article.

I know they’re developing a prequel series. I guess my point is just that Dunk and Egg aren’t the best options for such a series because it would face the same problems that the later seasons of GoT has faced.

I would settle for a freaking Direwolf scene once in a while...

Sure they will, it will end in A Time for Wolves.

To be fair, Martin’s as guilty as the show on that front. The man did a good job at first hiding who his main characters really were but the books have gone on so much longer than he anticipated that he’s run out of characters he can kill before the end and still maintain his narrative thrust.

To be fair, they mostly ran out of expendable characters to kill a while ago. They have to save their remaining ones to kill in the big finale.

After GoT…as much as it’s been a huge commercial success it’s had its problems both with fans and critics that have soured the public perception of the show somewhat—especially among the most passionate fans (not everyone, obviously, but there HAS been a cooling off of fan-ardor). And most of those problems stem

Look, you are 100% within your rights to like—even love—this movie. You can disagree with the validity of any and all arguments that we, who didn’t like it as much, make. But please—please—stop putting arguments in our mouths. While I’m sure someone disliked this movie because it didn’t meet their own head-canon

I’m not entirely sure what you mean? I’m not talking about the now non-cannon Legends material. I’m just talking about Luke in the Original Trilogy.

Eh—agree to disagree, I guess.

Sure. The hero’s fall is a classic trope in fiction—ESPECIALLY fairy tales, which Star Wars more or less is.

I mean, ANY criticism is going to at some point come down to “I don’t like what you did there.”

I kind of felt like at one point there was a spy aboard the ship rather than the whole “tracking through hyperspace thing”. It explains everyones paranoia and motivations way better. But then they realized they needed to go to a alien planet so...Finn/Rose side quest.

I mean...yeah. I think it absolutely is.

Hey—I think that’s really fair. I just don’t think its narrativly satisfying FOR ME.

Sure—but most of that is about how we get from that Luke in Ben’s hut to Grumpy Old Man Luke.

You know, that’s a super fair argument.

Fair enough. I genuinely don’t want to trash on other peoples enjoyment of it or act like my subjective dislike somehow invalidates their subjective enjoyment.

Um...I don’t think you understood my comment. Or, at least, this isn’t really a response to it.

Film is a subjective medium. Nobody should be a dick but we all really ARE entitled to like or dislike something and talk about it. Especially when I have a feeling Disney wants me to buy their merch and see their next movie.
