There’s always the possibility that the Night’s King demands the DRAGONS death, and Dany is just collateral damage.

To be fair, I actually think that’s the most plausible part of the entire thing.
But all the stories are pretty clear that the Night’s King is the 13th Lord Commander. It’s an integral part of the myth since he ruled from the Night Fort and it was a king of Stark and a King Beyond the Wall that teamed up to defeat him.
Pretty sure Ned DID use Ice. Not in A Game of Thrones, obviously, but during the wars before it. Why wouldn’t he have. We know he’s trained as a swordsman and he has one of a very small number of incredibly effective weapons.
Sure, but since even the dozen or so swords we know about most directly have been used extensively in battle it seems absurd to think nobody’s been stabbed in the chest.
I mean, that’s the whole argument, right?
I’m 100% on board with Jon and Dany being Azor Ahai and Nissa Nissa (though I’m not willing to speculate yet which is which), but the idea that the tempering of Lightbringer was in fact a concession AFTER the war and had the effect of turning Nissa Nissa into an Other just isn’t supported by the text.
Almost certainly. Though the books, at least, will likely show that to have tragic results.
I mean...sure. I agree that’s what they wanted the audience to think. But that’s not what they put up on screen.
I mean...sure. It probably IS arbitrary. But that is the contexts of the fiction.
Why do you think this would be considered more distasteful if they were the same sex? Just general audience homophobia?
Is it bad that I can totally see this WORKING?
It makes sense if you think about it. If you can short-circuit the evolutionary response that makes us unattractive to the people we grow up with at very young ages then OF COURSE we would be attracted to close family. We naturally seek mates with similar, desirable genetic traits.
That’s what I was thinking. That’s just ageist. Lena Heady’s still hot.
That would be my main complaint. Also she smokes. Now THAT’S gross.
Right?
This.
I mean, the brother-sister incest was frowned upon by the Andal lords because it’s against the teachings of The Seven. But after the Targaryen’s defeated the Faith Militant and brought the church to heel...well, nobody thought it was worth antagonizing the Dragons over.
Sure—but Dany is infertile.
Honestly—who cares?
