For Westeros, it’s close enough to maybe raise eyebrows but not close enough to cause an outrage.

That Domeric was a nice kid. Whatever happened to him?

It’s certainly true of Show Jon (as the show goes out of its way to tell us A LOT). In the books...I feel like that’s more part of Dany’s arc, actually.

Okay, if I’m honest, I kind of like Euron on the show.

They’ll absolutly go for the Star-Crossed lovers angle, if only because they don’t have TIME to do anything else.

I think Rheagar is supposed to be a kind of Aegon V kind of character. A man who’s single-minded and well-meaning obsession (creating a better world, in Egg’s case, saving the one we have in Rheagar’s) ends up blowing up in everyone’s face because they don’t take into account the REALITY of the world.

Littlefinger I’ll give you.

To be fair to the show, the Rebellion WAS still based on Lyanna running off with Rheagar. That event is what LED Brandon to King’s Landing (and Rickard after him). Which in turn led to the Aerys’ demand for Ned and Robert.

Kind of. He would actually be a “Waters” (The Targaryens were considered the Lords Paramount of the Crownlands among their other titles) but...I don’t think the show’s ever dipped into the bastard titles other than “Snow” for the North and “Sand” for Dorne.

Honest answer? Because the show has never had a “Waters” character that the majority of the audience will remember, where as the average show-only viewer will remember that “Sand” is a bastard surname because of the Sand Snakes.

Young Griff may be (okay, totally is) a fraud, but I would bet 15 gold dragons and a handful of Boner Crab ™ that he BELIEVES he’s legit Aegon Targaryen.

Lol, thanks!

I get where you’re coming from there. Though, to be fair, Baelish DID have a right to a trial as a high lord. Gared didn’t get much of one because he was a commoner, and a Night’s Watchmen besides, but Littlefinger is Lord of Harrenhal, Protector of the Vale and defacto Warden of the East.

Is it bad that I think I would like that better than whatever the showrunners are going to make me watch next year. I’ve just...lost all faith in them.

I would more or less agree with that for the first...3 seasons. MAYBE 4? But you really found a lot of value in 5 and 6?

I get what they were going for, but like most of the writing since Season 4 it should have been MUCH better done.

Who knows?

The Children, Bloodraven, wargs, greenseers, et al seem like they’re being setup as the agents (knowingly or unknowingly) of the Old Gods. Who themselves seem to be the inspiration for Melisandre’s “Great Other” and may or may not be in league/control the Others/wights.

I hate myself for being that guy but...Brynden Rivers was the Three Eyed Crow for AT MOST 48 years (assuming the title only applies after he gets plugged into the weirwood throne).
