90% of this theory comes from Isaac looking a little like the actor that plays the Night’s King (is the show’s “Night King” different than the book’s “Night’s King”?). Same thing happened with the Meera-Jon twin theory because Kit Harington and Ellie Kendrick look kinda similar.

You and me both. Why, oh why, can’t we just have disqus back...

Sure. But that would have been true to Sam’s character so we can’t have that.

I would cut them slack if the rush wasn’t THEIR OWN FAULT. They’re the ones that artificially capped the show at 8 seasons (and only 13 episodes between the last two). I get the short seasons because of the CGI budget, but not arbitrarily saying they’re only doing 2 more seasons and then rushing to wrap up the plot.

Yeah...but that’s refuted by the writing staff. And Isaac HW says they cut a scene where Sansa comes to him in Episode 7 to see who she should trust.

Technically, he hasn’t bent the knee. And it’s all bull anyway, if Jon rose up against her most of the Targaryen loyalists in Westeros would feel more comfortable with him on the throne (Dragons not withstanding).

Why?

Lol, people don’t get trials when they deal with the Stark sisters. That’s Jon Snow tom foolery. Stark Sisters just murder. They’re like little Lady Stonehearts.

I really, really hope Jon and Dany haven’t actually talked about Marrying and this is more spur of the moment. Because if they HAD...then it makes Jon bending the knee make even LESS sense.

Hand of the Queen. I don’t think anyone was officially named Jon’s Hand, but Sansa probably fit the role best this season (ruling the North in Jon’s stead).

Honestly, Sansa acts more the Hand than Davos. She’s the one he leaves in charge of the Kingdom when he leaves.

To be fair, Sam didn’t hear Gilly say that. He was too busy being grumpy. Presumably, Sam transcribed that one before or after Gilly read that. But the show wanted to make a joke (and make Sam seem like kind of a dick, and reinforce that they don’t understand Sam’s character at all), so we got the Gilly scene instead.

How do you get around the fact that all of the Sansa/Arya conflict we saw was while they were alone?

He needs to be a Targaryen (rather than a Waters) in order to be a threat to Dany. Because...drama, I guess?

Lying to the audience for shock value even if it hurts your narrative and characters is kind of Weiss and Benioff’s thing.

I have no problem with the idea of Arya and Sansa working together to take down Littlefinger. I don’t even have a problem with holding that back and not showing them explicitly working together to increase the surprise during the dramatic reveal.

I mean, seeing the future is a thing in this world (Daenys Targaryen). And we don’t know the true extent of what the Night’s King can do. He COULD have gone down knowing that Dragons were coming. Or looking for the Horn of Winter. Or...just seiging The Wall from the North and freezing the bay of Ice.

Agreed. And frankly, it would make more sense. I buy that Other Magic (tm) can make random ice beams more than I buy it can make dragon fire turn blue (or make the organ that creates the fire work after being punctured and exposed to the outside).

The Others DO work best as a force of nature rather than a traditional antagonist (Hardholm being a great example of this). But...that’s a hard needle to thread if your good guys are going to survive a threat like this.

Complex in what way, though?
