Right model, but too new for me. Too many needless electronics that could fail.

Those specs look great and all, but keep in mind that Japan has a depressing history of great small sports cars that don’t make it to the US. The most recent example is the heavier Honda S660 which is priced halfway between the S-FR and Miata. To me, this is no different than seeing news for a new Levorg STI or RS4

As a product of the 90’s, this is easily my favorite $kaycog COTD post so far. Thank you!

If they were gonna go for the whole “Discount desirable design from an ironic source” angle, I could see a 780 Bertone being a much more fitting choice.

particularly the BBC’s access to music.

As long as he can put out an entertaining car show with typical top-notch BBC production quality I can’t really complain. The original trio are still going to have their own show for those of us who want to still see that rarely perfected TV chemistry but it’s important to remember that it wasn’t like their time spent

I’d like to see a non-D Model S go up against the V8 Supercar. Or even better, use the new P90D and go up against an AWD race car, like these little monsters (with restrictors removed of course)

The GT-S had a screamer of an engine that even made VTEC fans go “woah”, but you’d be surprised how sporty the non GT-S models were in terms of handling. A HS friend got a non GT-S and I remember despite the lack of power, the steering, shifting and brakes felt pretty sharp compared to other hatches at the time.

I understand (but do not agree with) people being defensive with their brands when questioned. In their eyes, your criticism has become an opportunity for them to either “defeat” the opposition or “win” over new fans.

Shelby Cobra Super Snake

Not that it’s more deserving than the listed teams, but the lack of BRE is disappointing. Their success helped change the way many American saw Japanese cars.

Looks like it would have fit right in NFSII.

I don’t see anyone in the PNW buying this.

One of the biggest points of criticism for the gull wing styled doors was that they are less useable in tight parking situations than conventional doors. This demonstration was made to point out the fact that their “falcon doors” have a hinge which eliminates this issue.

1976 Cadillac Fleetwood. College friend had one that we used for long trips and let me tell you, there wasn’t a thing about it that was “firm” or “abrupt”. I’d imagine even crashing the damn thing would be relatively cushy thanks to the acreage between the front bumper and the driver.

Honestly, the aging Fujifilm x30 has been pretty solid for my friends and I. Most of us have multiple cameras that vary from Rangefinders, SLR/DSLRs and capable smart phones, so it was difficult for us to justify buying another camera, let alone a digital P+S. However, the Fuji X30 has proven to be surprisingly useful

Oh, in speed-to-cost, motorcycles have cars beat by a huuuuuuuge margin.

Now playing

A motorcycle quicker around a corner than a drifting Civic? Sure.

Maybe they were just “inspired” by someone else’s critically acclaimed design...

EDIT: And *then* I remembered the little ‘glance’ digital speedo in the tach. (facepalm).
