At best, he is profoundly creepy throughout the entire scene, that’s the best case scenario here even if it indeed looks like he was tucking his shirt. He’s a lawyer and a politician, he should’ve realised something is fishy with the entire setup and left. Instead, he asks for a name and a number and follows the

The best thing you can say is that it was creepy but not criminal behavior, like having sex with a porn star while your wife is at home with your baby. A gross pervert acting like a gross pervert is hardly big news on its own. That said, I think the whole scene illustrates Giuliani’s appalling lack of judgement. This

I tried showing my best friend the 1940 Rebecca in high school and for some reason the VHS tape had a little commercial at the beginning showing scenes from several of Hitchcock’s movies, and one of the scenes was Maxim saying “I killed Rebecca!” Completely ruined the suspense. (Why would you even put that at the

I always saw him as someone like Robin Williams. Never not on. I stand corrected.

Check out the 1997 version with Charles Dance as Maxim de Winter, and the delicious Dame Diana Rigg as Mrs. Danvers. Tywin Lannister + Olenna Tyrell! This fantastic version of Rebecca always made me enjoy their GoT scenes together just a little bit more.

I like Ed Helms. He’s perfectly cast in the IMO underrated Cedar Rapids.

Yea if you’re young and it’s your first time, The Exorcist will take care of business

The Thing will never not be upsetting to me. I still have to watch the dog scene through my fingers. I also think the movie is purposely illogical when it comes to who is or isn’t the thing, and when they did or didn’t become the thing. Like maaaybe you can map it out, but you’d have to make some guesses and I bet

That says it all really.  They think comparisons to the nicest man who ever lived is bad.  I literally cannot say anything more then that.  It speaks for itself.

Seems worth pointing out that Mr. Rogers himself testified before congress to help PBS secure federal funding — which they won.

Except for Carol Burnett’s “Rebecky”.

Obviously pilot never went to series because the dog was insufficiently rastafied.

I take it Poochinski died on his way back to his home planet.

As a teen, I remember kinda liking the 90s UK TV version with Diana Rigg as Danvers (and I was a bit Du Maurier obsessed at the time), but this seemed ill conceived as soon as I heard who was directing it. And, yeah, usually with a classic novel or play it seems fair game to try a new adaptation of it—but it’s true

Scroll back up: he said he wasn’t in high school when it came out.

It’s actually explained in the novel, Wu and Hammond mention that they designed the dinosaurs to look like dinosaurs from pop culture.

I think we all know there’s only one truly worthwhile adaptation of ‘Rebecca’:

Beth I hate to tell you, but there definitely was a baby in there.

I watched this tonight on VOD and absolutely loved it. It works on multiple levels, including being scary when it is supposed to be. (I guess I disagree with the review in that regard.)

Shut up, shut up, shut the fuck up. It's people like you that ruin discussion of classic cinema, narcissists who demand that the world cater to them. If you want to be surprised by old movies, then get into a goddamn time machine. The endings to all these movies have been public knowledge since they were released.
