That would have been friggin’ great.

Saw this last night. Definitely worth a watch if you are at all into this director or just enjoy eye popping visual design. The social commentary was very on the nose, but in a good way.
Yeah. I enjoyed it quite a bit. One thing I liked about the first four Alien movies was how they were each unique and very much reflected the sensibility of their directors.
So then it will be like it was for decades, or like it is now for the less telegenic/popular sports. No great loss.
And if it’s important to them, they will. Athletic competitions don’t need an audience.
I know some elite athletes, and they don’t give a damn whose watching. They’re in the zone when they compete.
Arguably the most entertaining hockey game in Olympic history included no NHL players.

Yeah, fuck it. I’ll see it. I thought I might prefer a movie that was just beautiful scenes of dinosaurs running in the snow and the trees, but then the original trio showed up, and I sort of got a little verklempt.
My then high school-aged daughter first suggested we watch the series. She had seen none of the documentaries being spoofed, but she still found them all very funny. It actually prompted her to watch the original documentaries.
I thought that one was pretty funny. It was the first one I watched, and I kept on watching.
I enjoyed it. My family works “that must be a bronteroc” into conversation pretty frequently now. Mark Rylance was great.
It’s worth mentioning that the things actors do to their bodies to get ripped in Marvel movies are not actually healthy. Among other things, they have to dehydrate before scenes to accentuate muscle definition. This is all pretty well known, so I won’t belabor the point.
I was in Iceland in late 2019, a place where Thor is everywhere as part of the culture. The Icelandic Thor is the Endgame Thor, 100%. He’s a big guy. (Also, Iceland is awesome and I recommend visiting.)
Heavy people can indeed be very fit. I’m a triathlete, and there are many heavy triathletes who are fit AF. They are often faster, stronger, and fitter than I am. This also goes for people I do CrossFit with.
I was glad he stayed heavy. Thor’s power does not come from muscles. It comes from the fact that he is a god. Gods don’t need muscles.
Why? How many people know what the real person looks like?
Is it necessary that the character be overweight? Are people so familiar with the story that it would be jarring for the character to be Zellweger’s actual size? I am sure I’m not alone in having no idea what the real Pam looks like.

Setting all other considerations (of which there are MANY) aside for a moment, can he sing? Can Palin sing? I’ve never seen the show, but I had the impression that they try to book people who can sing. Isn’t it a show where people sing?
