The writers and majority of the commentors on this site are pretty far left of center when it comes to politics. I’m a bit disappointed to see so much partisan political commentary in site that is generally focused on automobiles but I guess it is a sign of the times and likely a way to drive clicks. I’m a bit

As person that walks and rides a bicycle more than drives but has a Tesla with “FSD”, I actually like how the “FSD” works around pedestrians and bicycles. It is more conservative and feels safer than the average distracted driver in a large SUV.  I have also seen it generally get better about navigating around town.

I had a 1979 version of this car. 40mpg is the minimum you would get. I literally had the accelerator pedal pushed to the floor all the way from LA to Phoenix and got 39mpg with that tank of diesel. I had to have the pedal to the floor just to keep up with traffic because it could not get over 80mph on the flats. The

The reason China buys US Treasury bonds is to keep the Yuan to Dollar exchange artificially low so that they can continue to sell the US at low prices and support their manufacturing base.  If they did not buy the bonds the exchange rate would go up by a lot since the US buys a lot more from China than it sells to

I have a 2019Tesla with “Full Self Driving”. I love the car. I’m not really liking Musk’s nutty personal and political views, but I don’t really agree with most billionaires. The car is super easy to take on trips due to the Supercharger network and it has been reliable for me. That said, the full self driving is

Yes. It is illegal to drive through or stop in a gore point. When you leave the driving lane and enter a place you are not supposed to be, you might damage your car and it is your fault.

I think this is great. People driving 3000+ pound vehicles at speed need to be be paying attention.  As a recent juror in a automotive related case, I can see the logic in the bright costume, particularly if the incident is caught on video. Show that to a jury and it is a slam dunk conviction.

I was just on a jury where we heard a case of a person charged with possessing a stolen vehicle and eluding police when they tried to stop him. At least where I live, there are usually at least 1 Cessna aircraft patrolling the skies over the city and when a police car thinks they have encountered a stolen vehicle,

Here is the data:  https://www.iihs.org/news/detail/vehicles-with-higher-more-vertical-front-ends-pose-greater-risk-to-pedestrians

The first EV I purchased was a Nissan Leaf with Chademo quick charging.  The quick charging infrastructure was a joke.  The charging speeds were slow, the chargers were often broken, and it was just not well thought out.  As I struggled with poor chargers I would see Tesla cars just pull up, plug in, and it always

If you are not supposed to drive over 85, why doesn’t Toyota govern it for 85? I’m sure there is a rev limiter on the engine. Do you void the warrantee if you rev over 4,000 RPM even if it is not rev limited to something like 6,000?  If you slam on the brakes to avoid a crash, is that abusive?  This seems like BS from

Dodge Durango. Borrowed a relatively new one from a relative sometime around 2000. The handling was terrible and the suspension felt like every linkage and pivot was loose. It was not like I drove great vehicles at the time. I had a 80's Buick Le Sabre that I bought used to replace a used Delta 88.

I get plenty of stuff delivered but I think this is great. Local retailers pay a bunch of fees to support the city infrastructure. This is a good way to help level the playing field. I say make the taxes higher than 27 cents!

Well done EU.  Don’t let China own the future vehicle technologies by dumping subsidized EVs overseas.

Motorcycles are far more risky. In 2017 there were 6 times more bicyclists than motorcyclists yet motor riders had more fatalities and a higher injury rate:

Modern vehicles do all sorts of things to keep drivers from doing things that will get them in trouble. ESC systems apply the brakes and moderate the accelerator in turns when it detects a loss of traction that might cause a car to go skidding off the road in a turn (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_stability_c

I’ve purchased 2 used Teslas thru Tesla over the last 5 years. Most of the service I’ve had done was via mobile service where they did the work at my house. They replaced a door handle, did some sort of recall work to replace a bolt in the front suspension, and replaced the 12v accessory battery (after 8 years) over

Heaven forbid someone be inconvenienced by and investigation of a traffic DEATH.  If it was someone close to you killed by the shuttle bus I bet you would not want someone driving through a potential crime scene.

This police officer was wrong but that does not mean that all cops are b@stards. That statement is no different than seeing one white guy behaving badly and saying all white people are evil. Replace white guy with some other minority in the US and think about how problematic that statement would be. Generalizing and

China is not playing fair.  They are subsidizing their companies far more than the west so that they can own the future technology:  https://www.ifw-kiel.de/publications/news/chinas-massive-subsidies-for-green-technologies/
