When the 4 cylinder motor in my Saturn LW1 threw a rod at 115,000 miles, should I have expected to just go to the nearest repair shop and have them put in a standard 4 cylinder motor that fit ever car on the road and have the repair done in 15 minutes like an oil change?  Why do you hold EVs to a higher standard?

Haven’t pretty much every US and European car manufacturer been laying off employees for the last 30+ years?  It is a cyclical business.

Do any of the commentors here want to spend 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, 48 weeks a year putting a seat into a car in an assembly plant? Creating a general purpose robot that could replace the mind numbingly boring jobs seems like a pretty good goal to me. Is is slow now? Yup. Will it always be that slow? Not if they

The first place I worked out of school was always laying off people. The worst way they did a layoff was by asking employees to report to a meeting room over the PA system in the building... one at a time. Basically everyone spent the day wonder if they would get the call over the PA system.

He should probably talk to Toyota:  https://www.axios.com/2021/06/27/toyota-leads-donations-among-election-objectors

The CHP in Fresno claims they temporarily removed the man’s vehicle from his possession and went on to recommend a driver’s license reevaluation for the unidentified driver” The CHP should have cited the driver and FORCED them to have their license reevaluated before they are allowed to get into the driver’s seat

I’ve owned VWs, my mom owns a VW.  They have terrible reliability and are expensive to fix.  I for one will not own another.  I don’t have particularly high standards but VW could not even make those.  Based on my co-workers experiences I a bit surprised that there are now BMWs on the list.

Willy Make It” is my favorite local one.

I'd say foot. Off-road bicycles have been losing access for a long time. There's a lot more hikers and bird watchers than mountain bikers and off-road vehicle users.

This is what Electrify America should be doing. The Tesla chargers are far lower cost than any other DC Quick Charger

Based on my experience there are not enough VWs on this list. The poor reliability is compounded by the ridiculously high price of replacement parts. Although now that I have gone electric I’m getting bored by the lack of required maintenance and problems.

Have you had to work retail or customer service dealing with the general public? I have and I would take less pay to avoid it.  It takes a different type of skill than putting together parts in a factory.  The general public is full of people that cannot carry on any semblance of civil conversation.

That 25% of new registrations being EV in California is huge. I don’t live there but California has been on the leading edge of automotive trends for a long time. I was back in the Midwest last week and was completely surprised at the market share of GM/Ford/Stellantis as compared to the last time I drove through

And the fact that the only way to currently economically produce hydrogen is to reformulate fossil fuels so it is just another way for places like Saudi Arabia to sell climate changing products.

I’d just be happy if the world reduced all the fossil fuel subsidies. When it comes to fuels, I don’t know if there is such a thing as a free market. Currently the world spend $1 trillion subsidizing the purchase of oil and gasoline.  https://www.reuters.com/business/energy/biden-budget-target-us-fossil-fuel-subsidies-

I have a Tesla that I purchased used. It had the “Full Self Driving” option. I would not have added that option if I was buying a new car. At least the car I have does stop at stop signs when in autopilot mode or full self driving mode. When in autopilot mode it would stop at every intersection even when the lights

For me, the pictures of the Lucid Air look a lot better then when I have seen the 1 or 2 driving around town. The proportions are a bit odd. I also only will buy a car with a hatch. A trunk is just too limiting. Another strike against any non-Tesla is still the charging network. Hopefully it changes in the next couple

Keep in mind that this is not legal to ride on many, if not most of the trails on National Forest land.  Most trails don’t allow motorized bikes.  I suspect that many of the stores that sell these don’t mention where it is legal to ride eBikes.

Somebody should start a class action suit against Youtube and get all those car crash dash cam videos off the service!

What is a “useable” EV truck?  The Lightning looks good and has been well reviewed but almost all the trucks I see are basically commuter vehicles for people living in the suburbs.  If it can carry a BBQ in the back and make it to your college for tailgating it is as useful as your average pickup.
