Part of the appeal of FromSoft games is the feeling that the world doesn’t care about you. That would be harmed by offering an easy mode even if the player didn’t choose it. You can already play Dark Souls games on easy mode by picking a mage or using summons, no need for a contrived setting you choose

I’ll never buy cosmetic items that you can’t trade or sell later to another player like you can with CS:GO or Rust items.
