Roundabouts and traffic circles are technically two different things:

A traffic circle is a series of “T intersections” with a circle road. Each “T” intersection may be controlled differently. A roundabout is a series of “crossing intersections” where the entering traffic is controlled by yield signs. The circle is

Could have rented a truck, or van, or truck/trailer for $50-100...which is still a lot cheaper than a $60k pickup.

He’s an American citizen. He’s all ours now...

Tesla’s image is tarnishing by the day. We have a 2021 Tesla Model 3 and a 23 Rivian R1S. When we bought the Tesla, it was an easy decision compared to the limited competition. Friends would ask us questions about Teslas, and several even bought one shortly after. Fast forward to last/this year, and nobody asks about

Look at Europe. A BMW 3-series looks downright massive compared to most of the cars parked in places like Paris or Rome. And yet, French and Italian families seem to get by just fine with their Fiat Panda or Renault Clio. Maybe the big SUV is simply not necessary.

Well, this is gonna be an awkward 1-slide slideshow for Jalop in a week...

Haters can hate, but 12-13 year old me absolutely loved this thing.

(I stopped loving it about 2 years later when The Fast and the Furious came out, so blame them and the JDM rage that ensued)

Rivian owner here (R1S), so obviously coming from a bit of natural bias...

I live in a suburb/neighborhood where we are probably the pinpoint target demo for large EVs. High income households, but skews younger, so tons of car seats in every vehicle around. Plus, being in Denver means the local requirement of needing

No Tesla, but here’s a slightly larger list:

Annnnd we just ant-zapped 500 people in Chicago because we set the beam focus too narrow.........

My response is that the problem isn’t an “EV” problem...it’s a “cars are too big and heavy across the board” problem. Whether it’s a battery on a sedan or a fully-boxed-frame on an SUV, they do more damage due to weight.

We shouldn’t be advocating against EVs, we should be advocating for tighter restrictions on vehicle

Right, but NBM343 is complaining strictly about weight of vehicle and damage it does/can inflict on the road and on pedestrians compared. It doesn’t matter if it’s a 5000lb Fiat or a 5000lb F-250 SD...they’re both going to have similar negative impacts, regardless of vehicle type.

Yes. (as in all of the above).

The Lucid is very slippery, their motors are known to be very efficient, and a 118 kWh battery is pretty darn beefy (not sure about battery efficiency, though, but I assume it can’t be bad for the numbers its throwing out).

Conversely, we can still put a smaller battery in the same vehicle and run an easy 200+ miles with 500+ lbs saved, aka still way way way more miles than the vast majority of folks drive in a single day.

Also, the Lucid Air GT in its current form weighs no more than a Chevy Tahoe, of which there are hundreds of

Yes, but Gladiators are an entirely different sub-breed. Wranglers are “cool” for a wide net of folks, from college frat/sorority kids to old-timers who want a convertible but also want to sit higher/straighter.

Gladiator owners are a subset of that group, but also think “Hey, I’d actually like to get an even-worse

Does this mean the owner of a local shop can have their store “shut down” and “seized” by police if they happen to have an outdoor security camera?

It’s one thing to request footage and/or get a warrant, but literally taking away the vehicle itself and holding it hostage and useless is a whole different level.

It’s one of the very few things that actually work behind a screen menu. Our Rivian has several (3 on-road, 4-ish off-road, and towing), and it takes about 3-4 taps to get to the desired one. This is totally fine, as the number of times I’ve needed to change it in the last year is probably <10.

Bingo. We had one in Hawaii as a rental. Awful awful placement.

I’ll give some leniency to windshield tint that is 0% (or 80% or whatever, which is effectively 0%). As someone who lives in a place where the sun is blasting pretty much every day of the year, the heat reduction is significant...but I’m 100% in agreement that no visible light reduction is needed. There are these

All of these folks talking about apocalypse prep, when in reality, they’d be safely out of any danger and at a hotel in the comfort of AC that same evening.
