Rivian R1S owner here with 2 kids. I could give two ishes about the third row. I just need room behind the 2nd row for a stroller and all of their other crap when we go out for a weekend trip. Tesla Model X would have been a perfect size, but the $100k+ price tag was too rich for my tastes.

A lot of cities are starting to include mandates and/or incentives to include EV charging into new projects, but your point still stands that L2 chargers need to be more prevalent at home (notably apartments) and work.

Have a Tesla and a Rivian, and the charging experience between the two is miles apart. The charging infrastructure absolutely needs to be improved for anything not owned by Elon. I own a Rivian, and I can definitely relate to the argument. I’m putting ~2x as much weight on the road as a Honda Civic, but yet don’t contribute anything to the maintenance of said road. Used to live in Austin (and now live in Colorado). I can certainly relate to those distances. However, that’s still more “road trip” than daily commute, and in that case, one should easily be able to knock out 20 mins of time to charge up before returning home...if the infrastructure didn’t suck.

Not saying you’re wrong (I literally have no idea what your individual use case it), but most folks only need hundreds of miles of range when road-tripping. Day-to-day use means waking up with a full “tank” every morning. Can’t think of many folks driving 200+ miles a day regularly.
