Plus Deadpool 2 and still even Avengers are competing for butts in the seats.
Totally. The evidence that people are unhappy with how Disney handled TLJ is out there. You don’t even have to agree with their views to SEE that people are having these reactions. It’s weird that the article is basically saying to “ignore those people... they have no impact on sales”.
People have to care a ton before…
Memorial Day weekend has always been a pretty big movie release weekend, though. Hell, X-Men: Last Stand almost killed the franchise because it was so terrible and it managed to make $122 million on Memorial Day weekend in 2006.
Honestly more than any type of Star Wars fatigue or dissatisfied fans, I think the reason Solo didn’t do well is its subject matter.
In addition the macguffin (space fuel) wasn’t at all interesting. There were also no stakes for our protagonists because you know they end up ok
I feel like they thought Solo would underperform so they wanted to give it cover behind Avengers massive box-office haul.
“Fatigue” for a completely optional, recreational experience seems like bullshit anyway. Fucking real life gives me fatigue, not pew-pew and laser swords.
That’s what the cartoons are for.
Man, remember when event comics were something to get excited about? Now I’m just wondering how much the next one is going to suck.
They do this for every comic book movie. They make the character look like the actor or actress who is portraying said character. this is nothing new.
That won’t happen. Like it or not, GW got bitten by the “Intellectual Property” bug. They no longer care if their products scratch any particular itch such as knights or goblins or wizards. They just care whether or not they can trademark it.
That’s just what the followers of She-who-Thirsts want you to believe.
Yeah, next up - Hellraiser for kids!
This is the system where the sourcebook literally says, “Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim dark future there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods.”
Finding about about these made me question if it was an Onion Article or not.
Just wait until they run into those wild and crazy loli Slaanesh Daemonettes. Fun for all!
