What’s up with shitting on Roots, Kayla?
What’s up with shitting on Roots, Kayla?
Nah. El uso de la -x lo propusieron un par de españolas y el lenguaje neutro lo usan bocha de latinoamericanes. La cosa de ES SOLAMENTE DE YANQUIS!! es una taradez que ignora el debate interno acá.
A witch with real powers “navigating both social and technological change” is a gimmick, not a promising idea. That’s because real witch powers are a wish fulfillment fantasy.
One of my favourite games. That is, until I inserted disc 2 that never actually worked... I was so pissed off....
I think it’s an unfair criticism, as it imparts something a bit different from an emdash. Emdashes are great for indicating a sentence was broken off abruptly, but not so much illustrating it trailed off.
I don’t understand why you’d enforce that. If you’d read any English novel written in the last 200 years you’d see that it’s commonly used to indicate a sentence trailing off, a long pause between statements, and an answer or silence to a question. The first two are somewhat similar to an emdash. Either way, they…

Makes me wonder if someone would count the amount of multiple exclamation points there are in Suikoden 2. I’m pretty sure I saw a dialogue box with about six successive exclamation points for the same sentence.
I think from a prior comment of yours I’ve seen, you’re around my age (36) and I’ve just gotta say, this seems to be endemic to our generation. I was an ellipsis king back in the livejournal days, and I kept it up for years further. Only once I began writing professionally did I finally cut that shit out for good -…
You did the grinding BEFORE the dungeon. Once you got the open map again, you go to the Zeboim ruins and look for Joe in there.
You can buy ridiculous stuff there... and if you won a fight against a self-destructing boss, you get an item that makes rare drops a 100% drop rate. Then you go to a small island near a…
so...that’s where I got this weird...habit...from... ... ...
Makes me want to count how many my parents send me in text messages throughout a year. “I love you” becomes “I love you...” and it’s just weird.
FF7 is a masterpiece. Xenogears is the remake we deserve AND need.
I’ve learned that when you’re in a relationship that freetime isn’t “me time.” His wife probably wanted to be involved somehow.
Man decides he doesn’t have the free time to play a game, spends at least 30 hours counting ellipses instead.
I think he and I have very different definitions of “very little free time”.
How does it feel to be so incredibly wrong about something?
I absolutely adored Xenogears when it launched (I was sixteen at the time, and right at the age for the peak melodrama and quasi-religiosity of the thing), but it definitely sowed a bad habit of using ellipses in dialogue in me as a young writer.
Now, years later, I have to actively discourage it in my Rhet/Comp…
There could be 10,000,000 ellipses and it would still be considered the best jrpg.
