Mitsu SUVs are still selling here because people don’t care how crappy the car is if it looks decent, has cool colors and you can get $8k off MSRP without hesitation.

I drive an Outback.  It may be a “sheep” car, but it’s interesting.  It’s interesting because it can comfortably do everything I need it to throughout the day, while also taking me up roads that a sedan can’t.  Same goes for the RAV4.  For many people, a vehicle with even a small sense of “yeah, let’s try that” is

This one is definitely up there:

I 1000% agree with this.

Now playing

Didn’t look that bad to me. There are some horrific crash tests out there, like this one, that don’t even come close to that.

How about a 3.6 Legacy?

I love how you completely forgot about the Toyota Sienna, which is probably the minivan people think of first when they think of a minivan.

I work at a Subaru dealership in Denver (a very busy one). WRX/STI test drives are teh same way for us. For the STI especially, we let people test drive them only if we run their credit first, to pick out the serious buyers vs. the kids who just want to come in and flog an STI for a little while. It’s that type of car

Motortrend/Car and Driver/Automobile absolutely gush over the CX-5, CX-9 and Mazda6 over and over and over again.

No new car sold today has rust issues, except maybe some Russian shitbox.  C’mon, man.

CX-5 sells because it looks simple, expensive and classy next to its similarly-priced rivals. A higher-performance twin-turbo model, a-la GLC-43 AMG, would be a success, in my opinion.

This was going to be my exact reply. AMG, M, ST, N, TRD.... they could have an MSE or MSP badge and that would work.

Good God.

It’s funny that a Highlander was recommended, because my first thought was a 2014(ish) Nissan Pathfinder. It’s possibly the most boring car ever created but God damn, are the front seats comfortable. Those NASA “zero gravity” thrones are like sitting on pillows.  Plus a nice step-in height and plenty of 2nd row room

The rear 3/4 view is a little.....mishmashed. Other than that, it is gorgeous. I I even like the spaceship interior. I see hints of Mazda and Audi in this design, but it is still very unique. It takes some companies many years to settle on a design language that is uniquely them - Genesis has done it in two.

I personally think this is a great looking car, looks much better than the current crop of BMWs it competed against, which have gone all awkward-robot looking in their new generations and now have rodent teeth. The SS is clean and understated. Nice ride!

Agree with you on the WRX. It’s still a cool car, but the hatchback is much, much cooler.

That’s why I bought an Outback!  Call it an SUV if you want but the shape is still wagon and still very cool.

How about every beautiful Infiniti concept that never came to fruition?  Infiniti is the best concept car company with the worst cars.

I work with someone who EVERY. SINGLE. DAY walks in my office with a (very phony sounding) “hello, how ARE you!??”- one of those “I know you want my help with something to let’s just get to the point” type of hellos - and every time I say “I’m okay” she says “Just okay!?” I always respond with yes, I’m just okay. I’m
