Dunno, man. All I know is that it used to be a thing when I was in high school/college. I got a Coach bag and matching wallet and I was like, “I’M SO FUCKING CLASSY.” Now it’s on par with like Calvin Klein stuff...the stuff they don’t even lock up behind the counter because no one cares if it gets stolen.

Not by a long shot! Newspaper holding comany Tribune rebranded itself as Tronc a couple of years ago, that is WAY worse. And having the new Yahoo/AOL combined entity be rebranded Oath does not strike me as a winner either. . .

Almost every woman the trendy neighborhoods of the North side of Chicago has a Kate Spade bag. And depending on the season they are wearing Sorel boots or Hunter boots. It is like a uniform over there.

Color me... underwhelmed. It evokes old, formal, heavy fabric. These brands aspire to be modern classics, and Coach is historically known for its leather. It’s a disconnect for me.

They just should rename themselves to Travesty.

This is like the renaming of the Sears Tower. You bought a giant building with a widely-known name. You can technically rename it the Willis Tower, but no one will ever actually call it that, and you guys will look like a bunch of culturally out-of-touch dummies.

This just makes me think of those hideous Vera Bradley quilted bags that were everywhere among the career-having-moms for a while, not like the sleek leather goods Coach is known for.
