As someone who replays the game almost annually, I can assure you, the experience holds up amazingly well. Hell, I've even discovered new things here and there over the years. I only found Bahumat Zero in 2009…totally by accident. One of the joys of never purchasing the strategy guide back in 1997.
I know people knock on FFVII because it is not 6, but 6 didn't get me seriously into writing. If it weren't for 7, I would have never gone beyond rping on forums to writing full length novels. I salute you 7.
