I got sick to my stomach reading the story. Got worse when I read the comments on the NYT story. Maybe our species is not salvageable. 

I am pretty confident Michael Jackson is a pedophile who had a childhood full of his own trauma. I can’t listen to his music without feeling really sad. It’s OK if other people can.

I’m most worried about the small, local newspapers surviving and the impact on democracy if they don’t . I wish these were non-profits and the journalists could be paid for their labor and the news be free to everyone.

A predominantly female group, the granddaughters of coal miners who walked the line, made this happen in a hugely conservative state. They’re going to take that energy to the ballot boxes. This is something to celebrate.
