I think he really meant the latest generation, notably the T430, T530, W530 & X230 (the nail-in-the-coffin generation), with the downgrading (in terms of both values of the brand and quality of products) starting somewhere after the T43 or T60 generations.

For a band-aid? Maybe medical adhesives, like 3M Steri-Strips, 3M Nexcare tape or those Cover-Roll Stretch dressing from BSN Medical (when I was in Australia, super sticky), but in my case anyway band-aids usually come off on their on after a few days. And when I don't need it anymore, I just don't replace it.
