I really wish Tony La Russa would quit entering play by play booths while games are going on
Oh I’d love to see a batter pick up the ball and chuck it back at a pitcher too
I’ve actually thought this before. I’m surprised we haven’t seen more of Juan Marichal-type moments. I’d be hard pressed not to walk out there with the bat too. Or at least if a pitcher threw at me I’d consider throwing my bat at him.
That first GIF, with Ali’s legs going crazy a split second before he starts to rock Williams makes me think of him as a real life Mike Tyson’s Punch Out character.
Bravo to each one of these reporters for not letting yet another person skate by on their silly talking points.
While we all wish Baylor had said much more, my guess is they won’t for fear of further lawsuits so I can’t say I’m surprised
Whoa, a Pinkham return? Does this mean fences are mended and the door is open for a return of BCO to Kinja?
I’ve never heard an actual episode of Fox Sports Daybreak, but each morning I hear the commercial for it as I listen to Dan Patrick on Sirius/XM. All I have to say is Mike North and Andy Furman’s voices sound exactly as you’d think they’d sound reading these takes.
He’s wrong in the sense that this will be his 7th year in the US. If after that amount of time he hasn’t become at least a little more aware of US laws and norms that’s on him.
He may have a base point in some areas when it comes to Latin players being taken advantage of or being unaware of laws and norms, especially…
I think it would be really cool if it was both cities. I think either way Montreal ends up being a no-brainer if and when this comes to pass. Montreal had a team and did support the Expos before ownership screwed it all up (Jeffery Loria was a part of ownership if that tells you anything)
So the history and the fact…
I’m sure these Tweets didn’t help and Chris Cook seems like a dick, but based on what we’ve seen from coaches/NFL personalities some of these same type thoughts are shared in the league especially the homophobic ones (see: questions posed to Eli Apple, Chris Kluwe’s claims, and the way Michael Sam was such a…
I think Olney had a point...in 2005. At that point, when MLB players looked like goofs in front of Congress, PED players became pariahs that very few seemed to want around, pay, or cheer for.
This was a great piece with so many good points especially about why someone may not step in when seeing a bad situation unfold in front of them.
I might be mistaken on this...and I probably am, but it seems like Cleveland Indians themselves are slowly (way, way, way too slowly) phasing out Chief Wahoo (As if it couldn’t be any more racist...that name!)
While I believe publicly they’ve taken the same stupid Dan Snyder stance, I believe the Block C and script…
I remember when this happened to Tom Browning of the Reds in the mid 90s. Threw a pitch and just hit the turf. It looked like he had been shot.
I’m with you on this case in particular because unlike the Chapman case there seems to have been actual reported physical injuries present on the victim where I think the lack thereof in the Chapman case made it harder for MLB to go much beyond 30 games with all the stories changing.
Always thought Jon Lovitz was extremely underrated as a comedian. The Critic was funny. Many of his SNL bits were funny and the cameos he’s done in movies as well as doing about as good a job as possible having to step in for friend Phil Hartman on News Radio were all good too. Good for both of them if they’re happy.
As someone living in Austin, this is totally fine by me and a lot of us who live here. We have too many ridiculous events to begin with which clog our terrible infrastructure and too many dumb people moving in and kicking out all that made this city cool to begin with.
This has been your old man rant for the day
This is such a dumb argument. Sure, maybe he sucked on his own and was going to wash out, but people like you and some of these other comments are blind to the flip side that maybe being miserable and possibly even scared in his work environment helped him to suck
