I’ve never understood all the Mitt hate other than he’s a Republican. (Same reason I don’t understand the Obama hate other than he’s a Democrat) Ok, you don’t agree with his politics, fair enough, but by most of what I’ve seen and read about the man, he’s a pretty good dude (as Obama seems to be). And his campaign

This is a tough one because teams would have an argument to say that they weren’t the cause of DV so why should they lose out on controlled time. (This would be much bigger argument for a smaller market team who use control time as much more of a crutch)

And are you then “rewarding” a player by letting them hit free

With all due respect, what did you want out of this? If you read the link to Diana Moskovitz’s article above there was very little substantive to go off of to warrant a tougher punishment. No one witnessed the actual confrontation itself, the victim’s story changed, in the list of “undisputed facts” no mention of

Actually won’t Puig be next up? I think MLB is waiting for the court system in Reyes

Yeah it’s a good thing no other sport has to do this.
I mean all those super exciting last second basketball buzzer beaters that never get checked by replay, or those circus football catches along the sidelines that never get reviewed, or that crazy all out baseball sliding catch that never has to be looked at as a

As a baseball fan I really hope this plays out pretty smoothly, but something tells me that even if there’s no work stoppage the goodwill between the owners and players takes a massive hit after all this. There’s no reason for the owners to budge on too much and the players have already conceded on things that 20

The only thing that ever made him useful was calling out Carlos Mencia. Outside of that...no

This is the second time in a few weeks hosts have gotten a bit testy with each other on air. 2 weekends ago Sarah Spain, Jane McManus & Kate Fagan on their show called out Ryen Russillo for some dumb remarks he made on his show about the Bills hiring Kathryn Smith. To Russillo’s credit he called in to talk about it,

If it’s true that Wideman was concussed (and it’s entirely plausible) then I agree the penalty is too harsh, but I think Wideman hurt himself here with his original defense of “not seeing” the ref. To me, in the video it doesn’t seem like he needed to “look up” to see the ref and even if he did, it seemed odd that he

Sounds like a Stormy relationship

At ESPN, our reputation and credibility with viewers, readers and listeners are of paramount concern. Our audiences should be confident that our news decisions are not influenced by political pressures, or by any personal interests.

However, the public can rest assure that our news decisions are still heavily

“Now where is that early enrollment form”

His offensive line is trash which makes it seem at times like he’s not as good at times. He’s actually a pretty decent QB overall. Not “elite” but I do think better than just “game manager” too. His one major problem is deep throws mainly because he drops his elbow on them and the throws tend to float or sail. If he

“because what he can offer—a great coach that everyone wants to play for, one of the best young lineups in the game, an organization that is now fully entering “win now” mode...”

Actually there is a connection. Rocky was written after Stallone attended the Ali/Chuck Wepner fight. Wepner, who was an ok fighter, but nothing special went almost the full 15 rounds with Ali (he was TKO’d with 19 seconds left in the final round) and even knocked down Ali in the 9th*

I really like Rousey, but I agree she seemed unhinged leading up to this fight. Holly Holm does seem like a sweetheart so good for her I hope she gets the love from the public she has earned.

I was a it disappointed LWT didn’t include that some of the winners were also employees of the competitor sites. I love LWT, but thought this was a big miss in the report as it makes it look a bit more fishy

Good to see Georgetown is already is Tournament form

What makes many of these fines silly is not a player arbitrarily selecting their own cause to support on their clothing, it’s that players are getting fined for something the NFL touts and makes money off of themselves.

You also have to remember that MLBPA got strong because at one time MLB was the #1 sport which gave the players a lot more leverage. In a lot of ways the other leagues learned from MLB’s “mistakes” and nipped them before they could become problems in their leagues.

On a side note I believe if the NFLPA went on strike
