The intentional walk rule is terrible. Yeah it may only get screwed up 1% of the time, but it's a live play and they don't really take long because most pitchers don't take the time between pitches to throw them they do normal pitches.

That indeed may be so, but it you can't count on a freak injury happening like that
Derek Norris is going to see Royals running in his sleep. 6 stolen bags off him and the pitching staff (not including the first one off Soto.) Had to be way too worried about getting the ball out quickly before actually catching it.
Pedro wasn't the only one killing Yost. ESPN's Sweet Spot actually used "terrible" to describe him. And both of these comments just dealt with the pitching change and not that ridiculous purposeful rundown play in the 1st which has to be one of the most absurd moves ever actually called particularly with the slowest…
I'm pretty convinced Easterbrook is the real life version of Gilderoy Lockhart from the Harry Potter series. I picture him giving "roguish winks" as he reads his columns back to himself before he submits them. That talk of whisky sounded exactly like something Lockhart said in the Potter book.
Now I'm of to give myself…
Whoa whoa whoa...there are places where the horizontal stripe jail jumpsuit still exists?
There's only one reason I hope Goodell keeps his job. To listen to him be eviscerated by the fans on Draft Day 2015.
I giggled...a lot
I can't believe I'm even justifying this with a response...but I've going to be called a moron it should be for a reason, and replying to dumb comments I guess will be that reason.
You make a good point, they waited 2+ months after the legal portion when usually leagues hand down suspensions very soon after the legal is cleared up.
The first statement was also refuted by Ravens GM Ozzie Newsom when he said Ray told the truth. The 2nd statement was also refuted on Olbermann yesterday.
"He should be holding to that story "
Actually I didn't attribute any yelling to anyone so nice job with your lack of reading skills and commenting to the wrong person. I was referring to the reaction Fiers gave which was obviously motioning at the Marlins dugout in an antagonistic fashion. EVEN if it was a case of mistaken identity and Fiers thought…
I was thinking the exact same thing. What did Fiers expect the Marlins' bench reaction would be after they saw their slugger get hit in the face and the next pitch was up and in towards the face of the next guy? Regardless of whether he meant it or not he was going to hear it from the Marlins players. Instead of…
This deserves a lot more love +$200 for passing GO
There are two things that could turn a very sad and ugly story even sadder...and both are Goodell's fault:
I know this is conspiracy theory sounding, but here goes:
You're absolutely right, which is why Forgot mentioned in his note "Someone among these men has to be brave enough to step up, say 'we're going to make a concerted effort to be more representative of our viewers' and then commit to doing just that."
That was unbelievably well said. There are small moments where I think sports media gets it like when Doris Burke calls Men's NCAA games or when Suzyn Waldamn gets to do color for Yankees radio (ok she and John Sterling are a bit like a goofy aunt and uncle, but damn it they're our goofy aunt and uncle) or when Sunday…
Months ago Mark Cuban commented that the NFL would eventually fall because it would over-saturate the market with it's product, but what if that's not the kind of over-saturation that causes the fall? What if that over-saturation comes from the black eye after black eye the sport gives itself?
And I agree this has to…
