Tuk tuks (pr. toook toook) are still used for basic transportation by many Thai people in BKK though. Like when an old grannie goes to and from the market to buy a basket full of veggies, or when a bunch of kids take a daily ride home to and from school.

We grew up in a place where the names of the streets are still, Avocado Rd (became Blvd), Fuerte Rd, Hass Rd, Nabal St, Reed St.. Bacon Rd, Zutano St.

Last night. After the $1.2 million USD Hong Kong Harbour fireworks show (me on the Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon side). Aproximately 1 million people all moving in just one direction, away from the Star Ferry area. Maybe two million people on both sides of the Harbour to watch the thing.
