LOL. I’ve heard what they said. I disagree and presented my position as to why I disagree and have asked them to explain themselves further by asking what they would like to see and how they would like to see it done. That is what adults do: They talk things through.

Typical Jizzbucket. Nothing to contribute.

Who said that’s the most difficult thing I had to hear? Though it is certainly one of the most annoying.

Urban Nun’s points are all theoretical and deny reality. Kind of like the people you describe. You know the ones from Cambridge and Berkeley who claim to love diversity in theory but go home to the whitest lives imaginable while chastising the rest of the country for their racism.

Because nothing is being said. You have no point to make. I’m trying to get a conversation going and you have nothing to say because for the first time you’ve actually been asked to explain your position and you don’t know what you position actually is other than “Well, diversity is a good thing so we need more of

..........Linklater’s movie was based on growing up in Texas, mainly as his experience. So who are you to say what is right or not?

“They don’t release 2 black movies on the same weekend because, like you, they don’t see blacks as part of the fabric of the country. They see these movies as ‘niche’ instead of as part of the American experience.”

Okay, well there are plenty of movies starring Jewish people out there. And Muslims and Buddhists make up a tiny % of the population so its no surprise there aren’t many movies about either. Not sure what you’re on about.

Pretty racist, considering Tomsula is an Italian name.

But then you get into a different scenario: Gender roles throughout history. And the reality is, men have been at the forefront of pretty much everything ever since our species came into existence. So its no surprise that more lead roles would fall towards men. Plus, most of the source materials were written years and

Okay: What is the racism in the situation? Two people have different opinions and Matt Damon’s is correct given the context that they are working in at the moment. At that point, they are not going to solve whatever demographic problem Hollywood is perceived to have, all they can do is solve what is going on in that

“Aaaaannnndddd... this is why we can’t keep talking. I’ve literally explained to you why blacks flock to black movies, and you also completely ignored my point to you about the huge numbers of non-black audiences that are also seeing these movies. Like you didn’t even address that notion - meaning you don’t have an

As I’ve already demonstrated in other posts, when a black movie opens, it relies heavily on black audiences (the minimum is usually around half, like the 46% for Straight Outta Compton). I’m not saying whites and others will not see black movies, but I am saying that for the success of black movies that we’ve seen

What game? People demand “more diversity”. I am asking how much diversity is enough, how do you propose we go about it and what kind of diversity do you want.

Not at all. Answer the question: How do we come up with the proper level of diversity? What is the proper level?

I had to laugh at this. The patience belongs to guys like him and I, who actually question the absurd argument of “We need more diversity just because” with reason.

If you can’t understand how significant it is that 12% of the population makes up 46%+ (nearly 4 times their representation in the population or more depending on the movie), than I don’t think we can keep talking. If you think that this somehow proves your point, you don’t understand what we are talking about.

I didn’t say “only”. You said only.

Thank you for making a rational argument. Its remarkable how many people on this site are unable to even comprehend what we are saying to them. And its very telling that they can’t answer the question.

Why? If you don’t have a goal in mind, then there is no solution that will satisfy you. That is why a lot of people are convinced that “diversity” really means “less white” to the point of “0 white”.
