This reminds me of a quote post-election by David Mascriota, about his hometown in Indiana:

“The soft racist gets along with his black and Latino coworkers, waves to the Arab neighbors, and gives a friendly greeting to the parents of color at his child’s school, but all the while he feels that America is his country.

A wild, speculative guess on your part with zero evidence.

it seems congenital in a significant portion of wypipo

You are a true man of science.

Crimes, on the other hand, are something that former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort seems to really enjoy doing.

Oh, what the hell. Ring my bell...

Wait, since when is smothering someone not murder if it happens during a chess match?

Wait... what? I’m sorry, the last few years have completely borked my sarcasm detector... the cereal thing is real? I thought the “name breakfast cereals” was a joke. That’s... real? And it stems from one of them eating cereal with piss? And that stems from a HamNo piece?

Beautifully said! Thank you.

I can assure you when I was doing sex work I wasn’t ‘reduced to my sexual worth’. I still had opinions, was still a feminist, and my clients had to interact with a whole person.

The whole point of de-stigmatizing and normalising sex work is to counteract the idea that sex workers should be viewed as objects.

Stigmatizing sex work harms others, though. Every time a sex worker has trouble getting a straight job, or child care, or worries about their child being bullied, it’;s a result of the stigma, not the work itself.

I think burnie-bro meant that we all have our physical capital exploited by working within capitalism

Why not both?

There really isn’t ‘something special about sex that makes it different’ though. We demand emotional labour in all kinds of work; child care, nursing, teaching, dentistry. I have a family created out of love and intimacy. That wasn’t hindered by me having done sex work.

When we stigmatise, we are adding to any desperation that a sex worker might feel.

Devaluing people is literally what capitalism is all about. I’ve done sex work, I’ve done straight jobs. Some parts of sex work are fulfilling and fun, some parts are routine and annoying, just like any other job.

Well, I don’t know if there was an official ceremony but I remember Mitt Romney saying that when he heard the news he pulled over to the side of the road and cried tears of joy. Then again, maybe there was a ceremony. Maybe they had Mormon Oprah, or MOprah if you will, giving them away like “You get a soul! You get a

Same here! I haven’t watched a full NFL game (other than Super Bowls) in probably a decade, but by God I’ll check out every J’Ville article for a ration of Jason Mendoza.

I’ve never been approved on the root, and I’m 100% cool with that. the last place this place needs is more white guys yappin’ on and on.
