Yes, and who better to teach Cole lessons about cheap shots being unacceptable than Tom Wilson.

Yeah, I don’t entirely get giving out a second fighting major to Cole if you’re giving someone like Wilson here an instigator. What is Cole supposed to do?
It’s tough to see the Raps move on from Jonas but it does have to be said that while he was a big, sweaty European, he wasn’t the biggest, sweatiest European.
My thinking is the Raps just need to make the finals and then, once there, who’s to say the Warriors don’t suffer from 12 ironic misfortunes, each one more ironic than the last?
I got 38. Missed on the Vine one, the Johnson one and despite what the stupid quiz says, I still think the Rock and Roll one was Paul Simon.
You’re allowed to do all sorts of stupid things. But if winning a championship depends on being a place good basketball players actually want to go, how you treat guys matters.
Considering that I think that Davis will sign with the Lakers eventually regardless, I’d love it if Boston traded some of their best young assets(even if I think you’re delusional about how good they are) away for one year of Davis.
And even then it’s a one year problem until Marleau’s off the books. Next year won’t be easy but that’s why they’ll hope some key Marlies will fill in. After that, it won’t be a big deal.
There’s a big difference between looking bad because you haven’t been able to put together a championship team and looking bad because people think you’re treating your star player badly.
I love how you say “the organization that drafted him” like they did him a fucking favour.
I think that after the recent Muzzin trade the expectation here is that the chances of Gardiner coming back are basically zero. Especially when the Leafs didn’t have to include either of the minor league defensemen they used 1st round picks on.
I’m getting a lot of “But Boston’s offer will be way better if they include Tatum” responses in the greys and while I don’t watch enough of the Celtics to say for sure if something like PER is wrong and Tatum is actually a superstar or whatever I still think that’s a heck of a lot of bad vibes to be willing to absorb…
My hunch is:
I know this doesn’t always work for the legions of fans who do the armchair GM “Gotta Get Assets!” thing but I really think that for the Pelicans it’s really best if they just take the best deal they have out there and move on. Sure, maybe the Boston deal is marginally better or LA makes their deal a little bit better…
Lots of players signed 5 year deals after their ELCs. Malkin, Crosby, the aforementioned Toews and Kane, Perry, Getzlaf...it goes on and on. As a % of the cap this falls between the Crosby deal and the Toews/Kane deals which seems fair.
Anyone who thinks this is bad should have seen my first three ideas.
Fair enough but I would hope you would see why that sort of thing is kind of a problem for the business long term.
Yup. LOL at me for only being technically correct.
Man, the one time a Dodgers fan stays for the 9th.
Or (if you’d respond saying that Dubs have other teams in their market) would you argue that the Pacers have a larger market than the Bulls, because the Pacers get all of Indiana?
