The CSA of Raleigh-Durham is about 60% bigger than Hartford but even then they’re not the Raleigh-Durham Hurricanes and their broadcasts don’t end at the city limits. They moved from the 29th most populous state to the 9th. North Carolina has almost three times as many people as Connecticut and they’re not sandwiched

I guess leaning into cute and scrappy small market team vibe is better than their previous model of “actual cute and scrappy small market team taken to a large market where nobody seems interested in watching hockey after their egomaniac asshole owner wasn’t allowed to put a second team in Detroit” vibe.

The thing is, these services are really only appealing to me because I don’t like carrying cash. If all of a sudden I have to tip cash to be a good customer, I’m going to be less inclined to go out to get cash when I could just go out and pick up food myself.

Well that’s the thing, isn’t it. The whole reason I use these services is because I don’t carry cash. If I’m going to go out to make sure I have enough 5s and 10s to tip people, why wouldn’t I just go out and get food and save myself the delivery fee in the first place?

Seeing a team I dislike so much win is pretty hard to take. Thankfully, long ago, I learned that in these moments it’s better to stay chill and ponder a koan. My zen koan for the evening is what would Tom Brady do if his son was wearing Strawberry Lip Gloss.

Counterpoint:Yeah, you can

You’re in a dark place these days and I dig it.

Yeah, again, this is just to represent the proportion of the money. Obviously the less money you have, the more important that money is.

I’m not saying I don’t understand being disappointed. But even in life when I’ve been profoundly disappointed I’ve realized there are reasonable and less reasonable responses to that disappointment and, again, most of my disappointments happened without “I am still a phenomenally successful professional athlete” to

I think the McKenna article here about the band strongly suggested they were pretty well compensated studio pros.

Right but the comparison is about the actual difference it would make in your life, in which case the 2500 is almost certainly more important to the 50k a year guy.

Would you? If you were in year 1 of a 4 year/102 million dollar contract? And almost certainly going to sign another 100+ million dollar deal?

What do you suppose is the funnier way to mispronounce his name, so that it rhymes with Robert or as if you were exhorting Ernie’s pal to keep at it?

I’m not a gif guy but if I were I’d probably do the “That escalated quickly” one.

I mean, I don’t think a grown woman should be crying about not making an all-star team either.

I would just like to point out for the record that I am no Canadian stereotype. I give as many fucks about teams in Florida as I do ones in Winnipeg or Edmonton.

Every so often I think about what it must be like to be a basketball fan, where they have a CBA that allows exciting things to happen that significantly affect who may or may not win a title but then I remember that without the cap there may not be teams in Ottawa or Sunrise, Florida and...

The Greek God of Cawks.

If we get three more comments in this thread I’m pretty sure we could be a top 3 team in the East.
