I grew up in NJ and agree completely, awesome article.

A guy could just throw some sparkolators in there and she’d fly just fine.

Raph, Please be sure to check out Litespeed’s site when you restore that frame.  They offer decal sets for pretty much every bike they’ve ever made and can likely make a set for you.  I have two Litespeeds and am spoiled for life.  You’re going to love how well it rides!

real Philadelphians always just kept calling it Delaware Ave.

That’s not fair, 10 of us and only 200 of you, so proud to have lived and trained in this amazing city.

Lewis is a class guy all around, well done.

Cool article.  Porsches don’t have a lot of extra weight so finding 12 lbs to remove has to be really satisfying, especially at the rear of the car.

I have to agree with you, excellent points. Cool bike too! I still have my first really nice MTB, a Cannondale Super V 700 that I installed a full XTR group on during a long winter while stationed in Japan. I don’t ride it though, my free time is limited to the point where I would much rather spend the day riding a

Carbon fiber fatigue is also a thing.  Are you from NJ?

Where are you finding cheap ti frames?

It’s different if you’ve owned the bike since new and put a ton of rides into  it.  Where I ride the trails have evolved along with the bikes to the point where an older bike really slows a rider down on them.

Wow, good point.

But modern hardtails are the shit! Riding with a 1x drivetrain, a dropper, wide bars and platforms running 18 psi in 29” tires is the way to go!

I really love the exhaust note from that V6, also the wheel offset gives a ton of really cool choices.

Cool video!  The four lug wheels give it away as a six.  ‘67's are also identifiable by their grilles, the ‘68's didn’t have bars coming off of the corral like the ‘67's, this also is how to tell a ‘65 from a ‘66.  The lights on the rear valance are reverse lights.

I love old Mustangs, I love David Tracy wrenching stories and I especially love David Tracy road trip stories. Please take this thing on a road trip this summer when it runs, it will completely redeem 2020.

Thanks for sharing! I miss them too, as they were always extremely cutting edge. I have had a few Cannondales as well in addition to that Super V, an F900 with early discs and the first generation Lefty fork as well as a Scalpel that I rode for 14 years before finally cracking it, but I think that was a very

Raph, I love this article! I just finished restoring my old Cannondale Super V so the timing is awesome. Bringing an old bike back is extremely satisfying, and it’s really interesting to see how much the tech has evolved.

Matt I have to disagree with you on half of that point, they don’t look cool, they wreck the lines of some really nice cars but I agree they’re useless.

Those wheels though!  Absolutely gorgeous overall and the wheels make it even more so.  While their size and offset makes it obvious they’re pretty contemporary, they’re ‘60's styled.  So what decade has the best wheels?
