Here's a pretty detailed analysis why this guy atleast thinks it's dissapointing game compaired to the previous soul games:

He must have Icelandic ice water running through his veins. I don't think I've ever seen him change his expression once. Maybe he will once he loses. But he won't. Ever.

He IS beating the game legitimately. He collects all 120 stars that are in the game, collects all of the keys to open all of the doors, and beats the final boss. He's not using any hacks or tools to assist himself, and is playing within the limitations of the game as it was made.

You're full of it Jason, the most recent Casltevania isn't a dud (I'm assume you mean LoS 2). It's nothing to stand outside a freezing cold gamestop at midnight for, but enjoyable as hell.

Looks about terrible to horrible. There is one or two Okays, but I think Japanimation designers are better off when they focus on their original design choices than trying to make anime version of western comic book characters. Just my .001 cent input in this.

Oh she's Asian? Let's give her a katana, that makes sense. Pretty poor stuff all around, but that's particularly rich. Give her a wodao or a jian or something.

I really, really hate to be that guy, but the artwork is pretty average. Probably the weakest DevArt spotlight I've seen on Kotaku.

Wow thanks for that I always wondered how the system youtube uses works. I still have no idea who this guy is but at least I learned something new.

Capcom teasing an awesome MegaMan project that could be killed at anytime if it doesn't get the support beforehand that they feel it deserves? I THINK I know how this one goes.

I got his Eagle Jacket. Pretty cool stuff. Though I think his AC variation jacket looks better than the Megaman one.

Started hearing this song in my head for the last few panels:

Some of them make him look like Benedict Cumberbatch.

Except now if you ever pick up your xbox controller to actually play xbox your dog is gonna be all up in yo grill.

Luckily this won't affect me since I'm gonna buy the PC version of the game. Article was a bit misleading since it's only the console versions that's censored, but doesn't really matter since you had the original text in the article.

I don't normally like to play the "maybe your just bad at the game" card, but spending 4-5 hours on a single segment somewhat forces my hand.

Why do I get the feeling that the 4-5 hours frustrating stealth experience flat out affected the entirety of this review? If it's such a badly scripted event there's a high chance it'll get patched probably sooner rather than later.

Very well written and thoroughly analytical review. Your constructive criticism of the game is superb, as I can easily imagine the game's flaws and the very few pros it has without even playing it. Thanks for the warning, Kirk and Kotaku. I was actually looking forward to this one despite never playing a Thief game,
