Is THAT why all their new game releases for it in 2018 were commercial failures? So, hardware is where the money is, not software? Good to know!

even Wii U‘s got new games scheduled for 2019, so apparently not.
How could the 3DS be dead when all its 2018 releases were commercial failures? Wario Ware Gold flopped harder than a fish out of water. Luigi’s Mansion was scary how it low it sold (there were Virtual Boy games that outsold it). Mario & Luigi is the lowest selling Mario game to date. Of course Nintendo needs more…
Wario Ware Gold flopped. Luigi’s Mansion bombed. Detective Pikachu lost money. Captain Toad on 3DS was a bust. All 3DS games released in 2018 have flopped big time, and failed to make money. The supposed “install base” of 75 million and none of these games can get out of maybe a 100,000 sales. Since the 3DS is losing…
Actually, how it went if you look over its lifetime numbers, it began dying in 2015. It would have really been killed in 2016 if it weren’t for Pokemon Go revitalizing the platform (a 500% increase year on year is massive), and it then began declining with 2018's sales falling below launch month- MONTH, meaning that…
have fun playing all the old games, no new Pokemon, Mario, or Zelda games are ever going to come to it.
there’s a niche market for the Game Boy, but Nintendo isn’t wasting valuable resources on that. The Switch is failing to reach its goals, and by Nintendo splitting 3DS and Switch, Switch will continually be held back. Their lowering of their 2018 fiscal year goal from 20 million to 17 million proves 3DS is taking away…
NONE of those games listed for the 3DS in 2019 are 1st party, not even the ports! Look up who’s making those games, they’re 2nd party developers! Nintendo’s own development team hasn’t made a 3DS game since 2017.
And Nintendo halved their 3DS forecast with an announcement it’s down 60% year-on-year, so Christmas 2018 IS its last, because dropping to 2 million from 6 million (from Nintendo’s own numbers) is not only a large decrease, but that decrease has been sped up now that Switch has momentum, so by Christmas, 2019, it’ll…
have to, they only made like 300 Wii U’s so of course you’re not selling it, it’s worth like $2 billion!
So, the 3DS was ALWAYS $250? Huh, could have sworn one of its variants only goes for $80 now, but no, according to you systems never come down in price.
*cough* It’s a handheld *cough*
I hope Iran has some large living rooms, since Switch isn’t a handheld, it’s a home console, meaning you can only play it at home on a television.
“But even though Nintendo hyped it up for years, it only ended up releasing in Japan, sold only about 15,000 units, and was quickly discontinued.” just like Wii U that came out in 2012 and was discontinued in 2013!
All one has to do is look at year-on-year sales, and it decreased 65%. This is likely going to accelerate as franchises like Pokemon and Animal Crossing make their moves to Switch. This means this time next year the 3DS will be selling less than Wii U did in its final year (760,000 units), so basically it’ll be dead.
which is why VGChartz is unreliable!
It’s actually a higher seller on Wii U than you think
They haven’t released any 1st party games, all those releases mentioned were all 2nd party! They have no intention of keeping the thing alive, it’s up to 2nd and 3rd party companies now.
The install base is heavily skewed- as pointed out by the author many have double, triple and quadruple dipped, or more than that! This means that supposed 72 million users is likely closer to about 35 million. Take the fact that the Switch is approaching 30 million itself, with many of its owners having moved on from…
The Switch handheld unit by itself is under $200 in Japan. Think about it. Pokemon moving proves the Switch is the 3DS’s successor.
