So, now 1,301 Wii U’s have been sold around the world!

since Switch is a home console, not a handheld as all these fanboys say, you also have to buy him a television so he can play Switch. Now, if Switch were a handheld with some attachment to play to a television, where you could play it primarily as a handheld, I’d agree, but it’s not, it’s a home console that replaced…
Original Nintendo systems came with 2 controllers- both the NES and SNES came with a second as well as a game. It wasn’t until the redesigned NES (toaster) that it only came with one, but that system redesign bombed horribly that no one owns a Nintendo toaster.
Nintendo’s plan in 1995 was the multiple color Game Boy’s. That will gross them far more since systems run you so much more, and each one means they can sell multiple games twice, not just a single game twice like Pokemon.
Pretty sure that was Game Freak’s plan more than Nintendo’s since Nintendo won’t make as much from it as Game Freak would.
Please for the love of god stop using VGChartz for console sales, you can tell they’re overestimated when they’ve got higher numbers than everything Nintendo said. They contact a few retailers then try to extrapolate that over the whole market and obviously overestimate in the process.
You forgot the two free Wii U games they also included, making it a $120 higher value, thus your “decrease” was by including multiple free games.
Switch is as much a console as the Sega Nomad was a console.
The DS is also the only system confirmed to have reached its actual sales number as Sony stopped releasing PS2 sales after it reached 150 million, with ESTIMATES saying anywhere from 155 to 159 million, and Sony staying silent the whole time (watch it really be 150.1 million!). Since the DS outsold everything, why not…
Well, let’s see, GameCube was a failure (for those who don’t remember, look it up, GC was totally considered a failure in 2005), and Wii U was also a failure, both of which were Pikmin home. When neither console sells, what do you expect? There’s a reason the first Splatoon was considered a failure, and that was…
$50 a game for- USED games is why top high.
Actually, quite a few Nintendo systems undersold Wii U, many of them no one ever had like Game Boy Micro, New 3DS, New 3DS XL, New 2DS, Nintendo 2DS, Famicom Disk System, Nintendo 64 DD, the list goes on and on for those who failed to reach 10 million that were produced by Nintendo.
$300 HANDHELD with a dock you mean.
3DS played all DS games, and the Wii U was the final backwards compatible Nintendo system, fully playing all Wii games, and had access to Wii’s VC. That was in 2012.
Switch also ventured into gimmick territory the fact you could now play an HD handheld on the television. This is obviously a handheld with a dock, NOT a home console. Pokemon moving to it proved it.
Switch didn’t replace Wii U, the last two main Pokemon games proved it replaced the 3DS AND Wii U.
WindWaker is the worst selling Zelda game, and part of that was because it was only on two failed systems (GameCube/Wii U which together wouldn’t even add up to a third that of PSOne), and the other is that people don’t want animated Zelda, they want realistic Zelda like Twilight Princess and Breath of the Tears…
PRobably caught up in the fact they got the game, and forgot to quit.
Agreed! Fuck Amazon!
Right on! Fuck Amazon!! I hate Amazon with a passion!
