I don't think you can write a scene with an AI critiquing humanity's foibles without stealing from something somewhere. Only thing that matters is how it makes you feel when you see it. I also really enjoyed that scene after 2+ hours of (very fun) smash 'em action.

I like it, too :3

Well, the trick is that he didn't lie about who Corey is, just that he wasn't Corey. And they had ONE bar date. He probably had the date with her that Corey would've had if he'd just been a bit more confident. With the ice being broken, who knows where things can go from here~

Yes. This is the secret sauce to the show and you laid it out perfectly.

Parents lie to children all the time about stuff (e.g. Santa) with the intent to affect a child's behavior.

To Corey's credit, he did ask her if she wanted to kiss him and she said yes. I'm sure women consent to kisses all the time from men who have misled them about their character in one way or another. This is certainly discussion fodder, because I'm not sure how serious a transgression this is…

Again, Nathan showing how people's brains turn off when cameras and attention are pointed at them!

In a good way or bad way?

I feel at least part of the rationale is the skewering of how many rights people are willing to give up, how many things people are willing to say "yes" to, when there's a camera pointed at them or when the alternative is social awkwardness. So many silly situations on the show could've been stopped by a person just

I was a Corey a few years ago. I like to think I'm closer to a Nathan now.

At least he didn't drink it!

That's like finding out Deakins worked on The Brady Bunch Movie.

Let's remember that even superb actors like Michael Caine and Peter O'Toole picked up paychecks in dreck like Jaws: The Revenge and Supergirl.

He's definitely weird-lookin'

Or maybe Black Widow begins to have a thing for Thor, too.

I like me some Thor, but that's a great line~

That's… where I am!!!

Not Western Missouri?

LOST is a show less about what makes sense and more about what FEELS like it makes sense. The Leftovers at least has a facade of verisimilitude it tries to maintain in the face of 2% of the world's population vanishing.

It's a quintessential "mom show." It was way too toothless (pun not intended) for me, but my mom and aunt had a ton of fun watching it.
