My first thought was “WTF were they thinking?!”

I agree with you. The season one finale was their best episode. I especially loved Jared’s attempts at pivoting.

But does this movie show Tolkien thinking about his whole life right before he writes The Hobbit?

This looks like it could have been a direct sequel to The Shield where Vic Mackey becomes a boarder patrol agent after finishing his desk job for ICE.

I was thinking (hoping) that mix would be the full song, but yeah, that’s pretty cool. Good to know that Bernard Hermann’s ‘Psycho’ strings still play a role in modern horror.
