“Ingested while fucking dragon."

I am genuinely curious how the shift from gas to EVs, especially full sized trucks- is going to pan out. I am on a forum for my hobby and time and time again in the coffee house area someone will post some story about EVs and when that happens, the same knee-jerk, worn out reactions are spewed forth: “ They are dirty

Same…though I’m in Ontario Canada.  This is truck country though, and I’m certain there’s an unwritten rule that every Ram must be lifted.  I’m invisible to those trucks in my Miata (harrowing for other reasons).  In the Tesla, it’s like I’m driving around with a “hey lifted trucks! Your mom says hi!” bumper sticker.

I get targeted car related adds on social media, and recently got something from Motortrend about an EV crate motor “to replace your V8". The comment section felt like the car version of Charlton Heston’s NRA speech.

The idea that putting others at risk because you think it looks cool is ok. That covers more than just street racing. It includes shit like the Carolina Squat, stretched tires, severe camber, and any other visual mod that negatively impacts the safety of the car.

Toxic ICE worship/delusion.

On the other hand, if he hadn’t posted photos/videos of the events online in the first place, he might not have been denied initially.

I’d been considering getting into off-roading but if it’s all a bunch of MAGA people -- evidently to the point it merited two separate mentions at two points in the article -- I’ll pass.

I think Toyota is one of the ugliest of car makers across the board, only “bettered” by Chevy in that category.

I’d go with ‘fun’ over ‘nostalgia’ but yeah, pure for performance a traditional stickshift is easy to beat.

Yeah, kind of annoys me too. Couldn’t they have used a different name?

Eh, I felt the same at first but had a conversation with someone more in the industry and it changed my mind.

Look closer at the transmission rotary knob.

To me the real-life feedback of how a car is to live with should be leaps and bounds more important than some nebulous “reliability” figure that is generally pointless anyway with everything under warranty and people trading in ASAP these days.

Don’t forget that this is, first and foremost, a SEMA vehicle. SO of course the execution will be... well... a little over the top. I agree and if it were mine I would have kept it all a bit more retro.

This is really cool. If you don’t like it, Shut up and skip to the next article.

Eh, I kinda like that they didn’t pay some pro builder a million $$$ to make something none of us could ever aspire to.

Gimme that NA Miata! Headlights go up... headlights go down... headlights go up...

I’m going to have disagree with the Cavalier sentiment. I had lots of friends with those and Sunfires in high school and college. They broke down all the time. They cost pennies to fix, but that doesn’t make them indestructible. It just makes them cheap to fix.

Because there is almost no tradeoff to obscene power in an EV.
