So this website, which is partly about NOT using stereotypes, is now okay with using stereotypes? Fantastic.

Well, this is Jezebel. The reason you read bout so many of these cases being rape cases is because they typically relate directly to the subjects Jezebel is (was?) designed to talk about. I can't figure out why this case is on Jezebel.
She knows nothing about them. How does she know they are douchey? Why are they bros? Is every lacrosse player a bro now? Is every male athlete a bro?
Why is this on jezebel? Why are they bros? They sound like regular drug dealers who are getting punished. There is no instance of sports privilege, other than the coaches quote, but coaches of all sports say that.
The rest of us got it. #cancelcolbert
Perfect.
You are an American, and you should feel no guilt about saying so. Anyone who says otherwise can go f*ck themselves.
Uh....almost no middle easterners enter the country illegally. I would venture to guess the number is miniscule. I used them as an example for why there should be immigration restrictions. The logic applies equally to anti-gay activists in Russia and Africa, to those who support child brides in Yemen, Europeans who…
The two are not related, and you know that. One involves action by the state as a response to law breaking, the other is someone being assaulted by another person illegally. I do not approve of assault or mistreatment of illegal immigrants just because I don't think they should be allowed to stay. I do not think…
You will hear no argument from me that the facilities themselves need to be upgraded, but that is a separate discussion.
Better detention methods would be those that have similar or lower costs and have similar or higher court appearance percentages. Detention is clearly not just for money, it is also to ensure people show up for court dates, to protect the American public from potentially violent illegal immigrants (those with past…
Be that as it may, they still chose to break the law and accepted detainment as a possible consequence. I don't get the black women comments the guy made, or how it's relevant, but the choice part is accurate.
I have not. In regards to being detained or not, no, they should not get special treatment. However, they should receive proper medical care. If they cannot receive this care at the facilities they should be released and handled in a different manner. However, that is not the basis of this discussion.
Being %100 Native American is not relevant. A person has the right to their opinions regardless of point of origin. That my parents migrated legally to the United States based on applicable laws at the time has no bearing on my points, just as it would have no bearing if both my parents were illegal immigrants.
All if this is an argument that we should use cheaper, possibly better detention methods, not that pregnant women who are in these facilities should be treated differently.
I fail to see how this is relevant. All persons in the US apprehended breaking the law go through the justice system and if found guilty face punishment for the criminal conduct as prescribed by law. If I had broken a law (I can only claim speeding), than the consequences for my actions would be no different than…
There are certainly many cases where a GPS ankle bracelet or other method of alternative detention is a better option than detention in a facility. However, that does not make the use of a facility inherently bad or problematic.
Yep, thought so. Thanks for the find!
(1) Anyone who has entered the country illegally has broken a criminal law. (2) That is fine, and if that's their policy, that's also fine, but we don't know how any of these pregnant women fit into any of these categories. Additionally, non-violent, non-criminal (although anyone who enters the country illegally is a…
There is nothing that illegal immigrants do for me that could not be done by an American worker. The wages of the American worker might have to be higher to get them to do it though. THE HORROR.
