Oh, not against it - I just tend to aim for as little customization as is required to get what I want done, and with the N4 I'm not flashing ROMs regularly or anything else, so I stuck with stock recovery too.

I'm running a rooted, unlocked N4 but with stock ROM & recovery. I have no interest in installing a custom recovery (though I have with every other android phone I've owned). When google pushes an update, I re-root by booting CWM recovery from my laptop through adb and using it to flash the root-creating zip.
