I agree in a way.
Look how many cars on the market have the exact same ZF 8spd transmission.
Most car companies don’t even bother trying to make their own transmissions.
They farm it out, and try to program their own characteristics.
No, they all feel and act the same.
Distilled down to a commodity.

Ha, I always hear the narrator meme in Ron Howard’s voice.
IYKYK

My first assumption is that it was his “new friend” Elon Musk.

No, they haven’t.
American companies seem to be some of the worst-run in the world.
Which is why I was ok with Fiat managing Chrysler, and then Stellantis.
The EU companies (minus the Schrempp-era Daimler) seem far better well run.
Oh well, Stellantis proved me wrong again.

“Commander” Vance.
Greaaaaaat.
See you at the wall. /s

I’ve been telling people for years, if you want to really really see how stupid Trump is. READ is transcripts!
They are literal gobbledygook.

We are the goldfish nation.

LOL, it’s just mind boggling it makes me laugh. Communist China is going to “out-capitalist” uber we-love-capitalism-USA.
Apparnetly we’re too scared of the “free market” we have to build an economic wall around ourselves?
How can anyone stand to listen to us anymore?

I got to see this first hand in the professional tools business.
We made 40% of our catalog here in the US. But our stuff cost 500% more than you’d find a Harbor Freight.
We’d meet up with electricians all the time, and what do you see outside the Union hall? Toyota Tundras, Honda Pilots, Subarus, maybe some F150s and

Narrator: They did.

Yup, I remember. About a year after all the steel tariffs, I was looking at washing machines, and all the Whirlpool and GE machines were noticeably chintzier than they used to be. But with higher prices.
Thinner steel. Less glass, way more plastic.

The funny part (sad part) to me is that these executives will STILL vote for Abuelo Naranja.

I’m honestly struggling to think of a more mis-managed company than Chrysler.
So many missed opportunities because it’s been run by potatoes since Iacocca left.

is...is that a threat?

yeah......actual rich people don’t buy cars (or an large ticket items) like that. Often they find a way to use a trust’s or other people’s money.

I will say....oddly, due to a co-marketing agreement with Dodge, I got a quote form Liberty Mutual. They were somehow several hundred dollars a year cheaper than my long time State Farm.
Not only that, when I added my new Lucid to the plan, they only charged an additional $55/mo! Every other insurance company wanted

Same with mine. With no rear seats for “mom” to control, the passenger screen in mine is pretty useless.
I could see it for off-roading, as a guide can watch more cameras to assist the driver. But for entertainment? Passengers will either have their phone, iPad, or a good ole’ fashioned book.

I think what makes me agree even more is that over the years, Clarkson has been surprised before. He’s ended up hating cars he initally loved. And loved cars he initially hated. He’s a giant ape that like to throw poop, but he does change his mind when he learns new things.
I don’t see Rogan changing his mind with new

It’s really gotten absurd.
I had to rent a car while mine was in service last year, and my Enterprise only had a GMC Sierra truck.
Nothing fancy, just an AT4.
I’m 5'10" and it was ridiculous getting (up)in and out of it.
I wanted to check out under the hood area, and I could barely see in!
I had to go to the side of

I think I’ve lost count of what models, and by what brands, have had staggering recalls in the past few years.
It’s so odd, we’ve been crushing it in efficiency and output during, and since covid, at my companies. But the auto companies and their suppliers, just can’t (or won’t?) make quality parts or quality vehicles
