I like what this artist did, it seems kind of amorphous and alien — could play well into the concept of it “shifting form”.

Yeah, it’s going to be tough to do the Shrike without people saying it looks like Megatron from the Bayformers movies. I think they will need to take some liberties, maybe make it a little more organic...
“In my head, I want it to look like a Tarsem Singh movie.”
I think the real question is how these animals survive without chiropractors.
God Emperor would have been AWESOME if it had been told from Nayla’s perspective, and we got to explore her faith and doubts first-hand.
Keanu is the easy choice, but Aaron Taylor-Johnson would be better.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Spike Speigel from Cowboy Bebop.
Why the hell does the mouth have a shadow? How does that make sense?
Twin Peaks is one of the few shows where I actually watch the entire opening credits without checking my phone or something like that. Even if I watch multiple episodes in a row. It’s just great to zone out to.
I can remember, back in the early ‘00s, always looking forward to Scalzi’s DVD review column in Playstation Magazine. His reviews were always really funny and on-point, I’m thrilled that he’s basically become a sci-fi legend now.
Whew! Saved me the trouble, thanks :)
DEATH STARE!
Coming up on the final 10% of Pandora’s Star. Very “meh”; there’s nothing I hate about it, but nothing I love either.
This is my thinking as well. They could have very easily used CGI to have the top spin as perfectly as you please, so the wobble would not have been left in if it didn’t mean something.
You make a valid point...I just watched the scene again, and it actually doesn’t falter nearly as much as I was remembering. I still like to think he was awake, but it’s definitely better unresolved :)
It doesn’t keep spinning. In the last fraction of a second, you can see it falter. It makes no sense to assume it will somehow right itself. Why would it falter unless it was going to fall?
Gaaah! I literally do not have time for all these good shows! I’m still trying to watch season 2 of Orphan Black! Slow down TV people!
I think the only reason people ooh and ahh is because they know the main character(s) will be fine at the end. We put ourselves in that character’s place and see ourselves turn out shaken but OK. That’s the point of the movie, not the destruction.
I’m actually really surprised that this can happen. Aren’t maternity wards locked down like Fort Knox? For all 3 of my kids, I had to go through actual security checks every time I went in or out.
