that “passenger vehicle” detail also occurred to me, but I’m assuming that language has been distilled for this article. something tells me if we read the actual law/code it would be more specific and indeed exclude boats in one way or another

seriously. For all my enthusiasm I’m sure I’d find myself speeding straight into Canada or Mexico at some point.

maybe all the 9-fingered tesla fans and get with the nihilist’s 9-toed girlfriend from the big lebowski

I wish we had the (honest) context of how far / where the people were that the cop says they were protecting.   If it’s true, then yeah, the cop did the right thing.  Unfortunately, it’s all too common for cops to outright lie (and back each other up on the lies) to escape accountability.  So we can’t really believe a

AND they knew where the car was! They found it outside his home, had it under surveillance, but waited until he was behind the wheel to pull him over at gunpoint. W.T.F.

I don’t know anything about this other than what I just read in this article, but seems to me sneaking onboard this thing is a great way to end up a prisoner in a foreign country for an indefinite period of time. Just like trying to take drugs through a russian airport.

For now, I agree - they’ve done a GREAT job of keeping Deadpool fresh, but we’re only two movies in. As excited as I am about #3 coming up here, neither am I disillusioned to the point that I think they’ll be able to keep it fresh forever. I’ll just enjoy this next one, wish them the best, and see how it goes.

as despicable as it is, I hesitate to give them even as much credit as being greedy. you’ve got government workers blindly following rules. they received a payment past the due date, and followed the rules to not accept it without the late fee.

the article explicity states that he did this after his attempt at selling on the internet failed to produce a buyer.

thanks!   i’m mostly replying to this so I can find it once I’m home and out from behind the work firewall.   I’ve been looking for an update on this, but I’m no good navigating court records.   thanks again!!

I appreciate this perspective, and normally I would be the first to grant benefit of the doubt, especially since this seems to be a wise, future-proofing engineering decision.

I was surprised at the lack of quality of the supposedly superior WeatherTech stuff. I was gifted a set and was immediately underwhelmed at how thin (and NOT rubbery / flexible) it was.  And less than a year later, they curled and started tripping my passengers as they got in.

i’m no lawyer, but I have watched several youtube videos by lawyers - pretty sure including both in the lawsuit is sound legal strategy. if they only sued the driver and not the owner, the driver’s legal defense would (possibly quite effectively) shift some of the blame onto the owner, lessening his culpability. by

Reading that new price, just over $30k, my brain said “hey, that’s not a bad price for a car!” but then I remembered we’re talking about a tesla here, and I suddenly realized I wouldn’t buy a tesla for ANY amount of money. If someone gave me one, I’d sell it to the person I like the least.

IF I’m going to get an EV next, I’m most excited about a Polestar.  But I need 2 things first:  A chicagoland dealership, and for them to FIX THE STUPID CUP HOLDERS.

I remember in the early-90s carrying around a container of liquid lead additive to add each time I fueled up my ‘71 Maverick since unleaded was all you could find at the pump by then.

I’d have to be pretty desperate to flirt with insurance fraud.

I guess I’m old, because I didn’t need the last paragraph to explain to me why it’s called “William Shatner’s Seat” - it was obvious as soon as I read it.

I’m so sick of replying to pointless comments.

I saw another article that said he told his wife to hide in the closet before heading out the front door with his loaded shotgun.  Yeah, I can see him being totally jacked: THIS IS MY MOMENT, THIS IS WHAT I’VE BEEN PREPARING FOR!   dumbass.  I just wish Kaylin didn’t have to die for him to learn his stupid lesson.
