I think guns have no place in our society and we’d all be better off without them, but even I know that proper gun safety STARTS with treating every gun like it’s loaded.

for purposes of driving on the road, I couldn’t agree more - but a lockout preventing moving the truck if the bed is up might be problematic on site when you need to move the truck with the bed up to fully dump the load. I dunno, maybe a governor on there to block going >10mph or something.
Maybe I shouldn’t be, but I’m perpetually impressed that security never mistakes my empty water bottle (that I’m going to refill in the terminal after I’m through security) with a full one. Can an empty -vs- full bottles be identified via x-ray? I didn’t think so, but neither do I have a clue what kind of tech and…
i love this unapologetic take. take your star.
the Polestar is the only EV that has me excited to get one - but no dealerships around Chicago. The more I look at the Polestar the better I like it, but that was before this Chinese buyout. Oh, that and the interior console layout - I will NOT buy one until they fix that waste of space - I assume it’s on their…
I enjoy imagining what a big deal this was for the cops - the organizing and planning and back patting when they were done. I bet many (most?) don’t understand this is the type of thing they’re expected to do in their public service role.
i’m ashamed to say my WRX hit triple digits on that exact stretch of 25, going in the same direction. that road makes it so very tempting. i was a lot younger and stupider then. i often think back to how easily anything could have gone wrong and just shake my head.
and yet, even professional, top-tier engineers ultimately can’t help themselves. LOL.
indeed, RIP Ingenuity.
totally agree, and kinda surprised that a car site would buy into so many of these old wives’ tales without the faintest efforts of verifying their truth
sinkholes are the real life replacement for quicksand (that we were all primed by cartoons as a child to fear)
jebus. centimeters from a very different outcome. that plow braking pre-impact saved this dude’s life.
0F and -20F rounds to “really fucking cold” either way.
yeah, that complaint rang hollow for me too - too many mental gymnastics needed to bridge the gap between the photo and the words
my 98 maxima had side air bags, that I’m pretty sure saved my life. I credit that car with my life in any case. In 2003 a texting red light runner nailed me right in the driver’s door, broken c2, internal bleeding, an overall great time. better than being dead, though!
You realize that’s both dangerous and illegal in some states, right?
so, is police confiscating and reviewing dashcam footage a thing in the US? on one hand there are privacy concerns and I would think a warrant would be needed. on the other hand, they are cops.
hah. makes me want to start putting “patient states...” in my progress notes. you know, like “patient states they quit smoking last month, while reeking of cigarette smoke” and “patient states they have been compliant with their prescription, despite evidence strongly suggesting otherwise”
well at least disney should leave deadmau5 alone now
“...Echo, echo. So don’t write new movies, just rerun them by changing the locations....”
not sure if you know this, but it really is featured in the video game Borderlands.
