Bows and arrows. The OG American way.

I haven’t laughed that hard in a really, REALLY long time.

Thank you.

Agreed. It’s not a smart thing on which to base one’s legal ability to purchase firearms.

Tomb Raider of course. Old stuf Resident Evil 2 (I think). Fear Effect: retro helix. For PC I tend to like point and click stuff, I second Cat Lady as someone already mentioned, The Longest Journey ( though the character is constantly having to deal with misogynist bs it can get grating), Blackwell series/trilogy

If you haven’t played the new Tomb Raider games, they’re pretty good and Lara finally resembles an actual human woman and is dressed reasonably.

Life Is Strange.

If you haven’t already, try the Mass Effect series and play as FemShep. I found it to be a richer game playing as a woman rather than a generic dude, and Jennifer Hales’ voice acting is superb.

Silent Hill 3 is super old (PS2!) and a survival horror game, so YMMV, but I think Heather (the main character) qualifies.

Fallout 4 lets you play as a woman, it’s fun.

I absolutely LOVED Okami! Very underrated game that needs more attention.

When I look through the games I own for female characters who share equal or greater focus than male characters *and* who are dressed appropriately for what they do (i.e. warriors who actually wear armour and not bikinis), I am almost always disappointed. I’m a big fan of Primal on the PS2. Memoria is a point and

If you haven’t played it, I love Aqua from Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep. Also, if you have a Vita check out Severed. It’s a dungeon crawler featuring a disabled, female POC protagonist. Also, Tales of Xillia and Tales of Graces have AMAZING leading ladies.

I don’t play video games, but my roommate highly recommends The Witcher and Dragon Age: Inquisition.

What kind of games?

Yes. A husband could divorce his wife for suspicions, a wife on the other hand had to provide proof of infidelity but also of cruelty or abandonment to be granted a divorce for an affair. Sick times.

Yup. Affairs were a no go for women back then and the punishment was severe if they did. Instant grounds for divorce, loss of their children and being shunned by the community. Basically they would be destitute if they did. On the other side, men were free to carry on however they wanted.

Oh for sure. Some were just much stricter than others. Victorian England comes to mind, various courts, etc.

Agree with everything you just said with one small exception. It was frowned upon or outright illegal/punished/grounds for divorce for women to engage in affairs in several Western cultures. Men however were not held to the same standard whatsoever. It was only with the advent of birth control (to a large extent) that

It’s worth reminding ourselves (and our partners! Although maybe Father’s Day isn’t the best day to do this) that we are among the first generations in human history to expect the same person you had kids with to satisfy you sexually until you die.
